Mashle Season 2 Episode 4 Review and Recap – A Reliable Companion
This episode begins with the first round of the divine visionary candidate exam. The terms to pass the exam are pretty simple, but the circumstances through which one needs to achieve that are very difficult. All the participants are transferred inside a jungle, where a key has been hidden inside a Troll-goosefish swim bladder.

Everyone must locate this bladder and burst the bladder like a balloon with magic to obtain the key and escape the forest. But they will be hunted down by three Deadervants, huge humanoid Rams with blood-soaked weapons. Don’t worry, no one will die if they get attacked with these things, they will just get kicked out of the competition and will feel excruciating pain.
The whole stadium will witness this competition via 4 Rafflesian mirrors, and hence, no one will be able to cheat even if they want to. The exam starts, and quickly, we get to know how difficult it is. 1 minute into the exam someone already gets a taste of the weapons when they try to hit the monsters with magic.
The creatures that are tasked to hunt, are immune to magic, and even if one might use brute force on them, like Mash did, they quickly revive. So, there is literally no way one can save themselves from these monsters, but you can definitely run from them.
Then comes the next challenge, to locate the balloons, which is more difficult than it sounds as there is no way to know the exact location of these things. Our protagonist would not have survived this without the help of a really nice senior who assisted him just at the right moment. He is Max, and as he has heard about Mash from Rayne, he tries his best to help Mash throughout the exam.

Today’s episode was definitely interesting and funny, especially the hilarious antics of Mash. He even uses breakdance to achieve progress in the first challenge, which seems like an impossible and weird stunt. Even the spectators, who were cursing him before, were quite shocked by his power. Other than that, the segment about the 2nd exam starts off very comical as well, because now we will see Mash grouping with his friends against his other friend.
Verdict
Today’s episode was again interesting, and the way it ended, you definitely feel pity for Finn. I would like to see how the next round will go, and whether Mash will be able to protect himself and his friends till the end. As of now, this season has been pretty decent, and this episode especially is better than the previous ones.
