Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, Oppenheimer, is grabbing all the attention it can. Starting from being a biographical drama of America’s leading theoretical physicist to an ensemble cast that features all of Hollywood’s big names, the title is based on the book American Prometheus written by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin. As the release of the date of the film gets closer, set pictures have started to surface showing cast members on the sets of the film.
New set pictures have surfaced revealing Marvel’s Robert Downey Jr and, Peaky Blinders’ Cillian Murphy on the film set. The pictures show Downey Jr cloaked in white hair, having a conversation with Murphy. The two actors are seen wearing iconic to the era of World War II, with Downey Jr stocking up in suspenders. The film going to star Downey Jr. in the role of Lewis Strauss, an American businessman and philanthropist, who played a major role in the development of nuclear weapons and nuclear energy in the United States.
Cillian Murphy, on the other hand, is set to play the titular character in the film- J. Robert Oppenheimer, a theoretical physicist who is credited for being the “father of the atomic bomb” due to his role in the Manhattan Project—the World War II undertaking that was responsible for developing the first nuclear weapons. Oppenheimer Set Pics Ft. Robert Downey Jr and Cillian Murphy
The film is scheduled to release in the United States on July 21, 2023, by Universal Pictures. Apart from Downey and Murphy, the cast includes Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Kenneth Branagh, Josh Peck and other actors in notable roles.
