Made In Abyss Season 2 Episode 1 Title

The best anime of 2017 and one of the greatest shows of this generation, Made in Abyss, makes a return to our screens with Made In Abyss Season 2, titled Made in Abyss Golden City of the Scorching Sun. The series is once again being helmed by veteran director Masayuki Kojima who also directed the previous seasons alongside other classic anime such as Monster and Black Bullet. Spellbinding would be an accurate description of what the initial moments of this new season were able to accomplish. The show has always been known for having a tremendous soundtrack, but composer Kevin Penkin has outdone himself this time in creating one of the most beautiful OSTs and displaying it right at the beginning of the show. After Dawn Of The Deep Soul, the show left a hole in the heart of many a fan that only something as good could fill, and it seems like it had to be the sequel to the same show.

If there exists a show which has had a better reintroduction or a sequel season pilot, I do not know of it. The latest episode of Made in Abyss was everything you’d ever want from an episode of the show. The wonder, the adventure, the danger, the knowledge that going down the Abyss is the last thing you’re ever going to do, and everything else about the show succeeds in creating a phenomenal atmosphere that makes you wonder if it is possible to have a new episode of this show air every week for the rest of our lives.

There are all new characters this time around, with a great new tagline for the latest season. Made in Abyss The Golden City of the Scorching Sun follows Vuelo in her journey to find a place where her compass stands upright. Her tragedy is displayed with a lot of care in this episode, and we’ll know more about her as the series moves forward. Vuelo has a seemingly great relationship with all of her crewmates, and her and Riko’s parallel journey is a fascinating direction to move on for the adventure.

If you skipped Dawn Of The Deep Soul before starting Season 2, it will be quite a surprise for you to learn that the movie was canon, and you have to watch it to get the full experience. Every major plot point that the movie touched on, including Bondrewd, Prushka, Riko’s White Whistle, and whatever other tragedy that the show decided to throw at our faces, was present in this episode in some form or another. Don’t hesitate before watching the movie, as it is extremely well-created and written. Just have some tissues on the ready, and you’ll be fine.

Made In Abyss Season 2 Episode 1 was the perfect start to an anime. It established what this season was going to be like alongside how important the new characters were to the plot. The sixth layer of the abyss is finally here, after a years-long struggle, and the first look of that was also breathtaking. This season is going to be great, just like the original, and the foundations for that have already been laid out. Brace yourself, for a lot of horrors might be unknowingly coming our way. Mitty is gone but not forgotten in our hearts.

Verdict

Made In Abyss Season 2 Episode 1 was a fantastic start to the series. It featured masterful music and a fresh plot featuring new characters alongside our favourite old ones adventuring inside the abyss. It is impossible to get better than this.
