Casey Anthony Where the Truth Lies features one of the ‘most hated mothers in America’ finally presenting her side of the story after nearly eleven years. Notably, the three-part documentary series ventures into the decade-old trial, and offers a unique perspective on the chain of events, mostly from Casey’s side. However, just like the trial, the docu-series has once again polarised the living room discussions and opened another round of internet debates.
For the unversed, the series revolves around 36-year-old Casey Anthony, who was put on six weeks long trial for murdering her two-year-old daughter Caylee Anthony. In the end, the jury sided with her defense and pronounced Casey not guilty of the heinous crime, on the basis of reasonable doubt. Ever since then, the issue has raised several questions about the controversial verdict, and the aftermath of the investigation. Therefore, in this documentary directed by Alexandra Dean, we finally get to revisit everything once again.
Biggest Revelation in Casey Anthony Where the Truth Lies

The series is successful in unearthing all the minute details about the case and also provides many significant revelations right from episode one. For instance, we get to see Casey explaining the involvement of her father George Anthony with the murder, and his alleged manipulation throughout the course of the trial.
Casey states in the docu-series that her father was the one, who carried Caylee in her hands outside the porch. And told her that everything will be okay if she does exactly what he says. Moreover, she also claims that the two-year-old child was soaking wet in an unconscious state when George brought it to her.
Even though Casey doesn’t accuse him of downright murder, she states that it definitely wasn’t some accident in the pool. Furthermore, Anthony also clears that the main reason behind all these revelations after a decade is her way of honoring the memory of her deceased daughter.

Why Did Casey Anthony Lie?

During the early part of the investigation, Casey was questioned by the detectives about her employment history. In response to this, she assured them that she worked at Universal Studios and that she also has her own office. However, when the detectives took her directly to the studio, Casey, eventually confessed the truth.
Casey was found guilty of supplying wrongful information to the authorities and also received a jail period for the same. She did get out before her stipulated time, on grounds of good behavior, but failed to provide any reasoning for the unnecessary lies. Now, the controversial teenage mother finally opens up about her behavior.
Casey reveals that she was abused and molested as a child, by her own father. And as a result of the constant subjugation to childhood trauma, she formed a compulsive pattern. The series depicts this thoroughly by using computer-generated graphics and makes an attempt to understand the surrendering mindset of a traumatized individual.
Notably, just like the trial, the opinion of the people who have watched the documentary is completely divided. Some of them believe the claims that Casey has put forward, while others have rejected her theories. But for what’s worth it, the docu-series does not fail in providing a compelling argument.
