Yeong-ju comes home to find her father’s face swollen and bleeding. Ho-sik is extremely upset and won’t talk to Yeong-ju unless it is about going to the hospital. Ho-sik tells her that she won’t have everything her way in this life and she should leave home if she wants to have a baby. He calls her baby baggage and tells her to get rid of it because it isn’t easy to raise a baby knowing how difficult it was for him to raise Yeong-ju. The owner of the motel calls In-gwon when Ho-sik doesn’t pick up his calls. In-gwon goes to the motel and forces Yeong-ju out of the motel to take her to the hospital. Hyun has already called Ho-sik because Yeong-ju is sick with a cold and he is on his way. Hyun tells his father to leave Yeong-ju alone but pushes him when he doesn’t let her go. He tells his father that he has always been an embarrassment to him and he should have gone with his mom. This deeply hurts In-gwon but Ho-sik starts beating him again because he saw him forcing Yeong-ju. They fight in the middle of the street and end up in jail.

Our Blues Episode 8 Ending

In jail, In-gwon asks Ho-sik why he has been angry with him for all these years when he hasn’t done anything wrong. Ho-sik tells him that he could only rely on him when his wife left him but at that time, In-gwon called ‘Dirt-poor Jerk’ in front of his daughter and that hurt him coming from his close friend. In-gwon thought it was okay to call his close friend any bad word but at that time, Ho-sik was really dirt poor and In-gwon called him so in front of his daughter.

Hyun and Yeong-ju have both left home and live with Jeju’s grandmothers for the time being. In-gwon feels lonely without his son at home and so does Ho-sik without his daughter. In-gwon collapses while walking downstairs and becomes unconscious. Thankfully, Ho-sik comes there in time and carries him to the hospital. He has been diagnosed with diabetes but refuses to get treatment for his wounds.

Hyun comes to his father’s shop and apologizes to him for saying such harsh words. In-gwon and he cry while back hugging each other. Yeong-ju also apologizes to her father for making him feel lonely and tells him that she also feels lonely without him. Ho-sik promises to give her a place to stay where she can raise the baby and live with Hyun if she wants but doesn’t forgive her. He wants her to know that everything in life will not always go the way she wants.

Our Blues Episode 8 Review

Filled with friendship, love and rivalry, Our Blues Episode 8 gives everything. Yeong-ju and Hyun’s promise to love each other more, Ho-sik’s confession to In-gwon and In-gwon’s sensitive side for his son; all of them share a similar feeling of longing. In-gwon and Ho-sik’s side of the story as fathers is not only written well but also portrayed well by the actors.

Our Blues Episode 8 is available to watch on Netflix.
