2021 film Jai Bhim starring Suriya, Lijmol Jose, Manikandan, Rajisha Vijayan, Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh and others had received great positive reviews when it was released. The audience also appreciated the Amazon Prime Video India film. The Tamil language legal drama film highlights the caste discrimination issues in India for ages. It looks like the Oscars are also impressed with the film.
Today, the Oscars YouTube channel shared a scene from Suriya starrer Jai Bhim in their ‘Scene At The Academy’ section. The scene is the film’s opening scene where the cops are releasing the prisoners. The description reads, “Jai Bhim weaves in real case studies helmed by Activist-Lawyer Chandru, who brought justice to indigenous tribes in Tamilnadu through his relentless efforts. Writer-director TJ Gnanavel reveals how the story narrative was formed and executed.”
About the film and the scene, TJ Gnanavel says in the video, “On basis of caste discrimination, police are shown segregating tribal people. That’s the opening scene. You could call it the film’s theme. How easily a powerful system can brand the oppressed as habitual offenders on basis of caste. They’re being framed like this.”
Fans have shared their happiness with the Jai Bhim scene featured on the Oscars 2022 YouTube Channel. One fan wrote, “I was literally over the moon to see #JaiBhim get featured in the #Oscars Official Youtube Channel. Surya shines more!!” Another fan tweeted, “A scene of #JaiBhim has been uploaded on #Oscars YouTube channel. #Suriya made us and #Indian cinema proud. Really an awesome movie must watch”.
