Fashion is all the rage right now, and the Next in Fashion season 2 trailer shows just that. This show is hosted by Tan France, but this time he will be joined by another fashion icon, Gigi Hadid. In the first season France was joined by Alexa Chung. This is a reality show inviting 12 budding designers to compete in a competition that would give them a chance to win $200,000 and an opportunity to launch their collection on Rent The Runway, an online website that allows users to rent designer items.
The trailer shows the duo speaking to the contestants as they get ready for a grueling ten episodes. It will be a formative and inspiring experience to be coached by Tan France and Gigi Hadid, both of whom come to fashion from different perspectives. Apart from judging these young ingenues, they will also sport some of these fashion pieces. In a spirit of opening up their world, the hosts will also be inviting other fashion idols like Olivier Rousteing, Bella Hadid, Candace Swanepoel, Hailey Beiber, Emma Chamberlin and finally, the most prestigious Donatella Versace.
Contestants are seen bringing different kinds of fashion styles on the runway all adhering to this season’s theme of extravagance and playfulness. Fashion trends are going to be made on the show and it is clear that contestants must think outside the box to make sure that their designs are good enough for a spot on a prestigious company. Both France and Hadid are seen wearing maximalist outfits with glimmering bodices and makeup looks on their end.
Otherwise, competitors have made their mark with dresses inspired from Hadid’s Met Gala look, foliage and sheer garment, some bold silhouettes and interesting family outings. They have made it clear that they are here to win and will bring everything to the table. Some have also decreed that if perfection is something everyone is looking for then that is what they will be serving. Moving forms around, scrambling to get the right fabric or sewing multiple patches to get the right look, this show promises some interesting looks on behalf of the contestants.

When France and Hadid sit down to speak of their expectations from this show, they explain how they want something extra, some beauty, and most importantly something that goes over the top. The budding designers do not fail. They show judges their flowy dresses, their pantsuit combination, a denim moment and some interesting visual humour through clothing. If someone is interested in the way clothes are constructed and the designing process behind them, this show is set to give an inside look into the craft.
Apart from the craft, audiences can expect to see the realistic nature of how competitive the fashion industry is. Even though, contestants will be under extreme amounts of pressure, they are excited to channel that into the designs. As Hadid very confidently explains, they aren’t looking for yesterday’s fashion, they are looking for the next in fashion.
