Fate The Winx Saga, the Netflix show based on the Nickelodeon animated series Winx Club by Iginio Straffi, has been cancelled after two seasons. The second season of the show was released in September and ended on a rather cliffhanger, which should have been ideally, resolved in the next seasons. Unfortunately, not anymore.
Produced by Archery Pictures in association with Rainbow, Fate The Winx Saga is developed by Brian Young, who is also the showrunner and executive producer. The synopsis of the show reads, “Determined to master their enchanting powers, a group of teens navigate rivalry, romance and supernatural studies at Alfea, a magical boarding school.”
The cast includes Abigail Cowen as Bloom Peters, Hannah van der Westhuysen as Stella, Precious Mustapha as Aisha, Eliot Salt as Terra Harvey, Elisha Applebaum as Musa, Danny Griffin as Sky, Sadie Soverall as Beatrix, Freddie Thorp as Riven, Eva Birthistle as Vanessa Peters, Robert James-Collier as Saul Silva, Eve Best as Farah Dowling and Lesley Sharp as Rosalind.

Series creator Brian Young took to Instagram, announcing that the show won’t be returning for a third season. “This is not fun news to share, but Netflix decided not to move forward with Season 3 of Fate: The Winx Saga. This is especially tough because I know how many of you loved this season. It’s a heartbreaking silver lining, but a silver lining all the same,” he wrote.
Even since the news was announced fans expressed their disappointment and anger, with many slamming the streaming platform for making this decision. A few months ago, Netflix cancelled some of the fan-favourite shows as well, which cause outrage among the public and this time round, many viewers said – this is the reason why Netflix is losing subscribers.
But things are a bit different this time, as many fans of the show have been spamming other streaming giants like Hulu, Prime Video, Disney+ and more to take up the show. ‘Save The Winx Saga’ can be seen in many of the comment sections of their Instagram accounts, as the fans want to see what happens next in the story.
If the power of the internet mob is to be considered, many things do come true – from celebrities following the opinions of their fans to TV shows, changing their storylines to cater and adapt to the popular demand. However, can a show be transferred to another platform, has an unclear answer and mainly depends on the profit and popularity.
