Luther The Fallen Sun Ending Explained
From what we know after watching the film, the moonlighting serial killer and billionaire use his crooked resources to get DCI John Luther dismissed from his position and transported into a highly dangerous prison.
The detective learns about the involvement of the serial killer in his arrest and tries to pass on hints to the new DCI Odette Raine, who ignores them completely. She even mentions a punishment of solitary confinement if Luther attempts to reach her again from prison.
Moreover, things become even more difficult for the former detective, after his fellow prisoners decide to settle scores with Luther. However, the disgraced DCI makes use of his own intellect and strength to escape the situation and eventually flee from the prison facility.
This is when the chase starts to focus on both Luther and Robey. The new DCI, Raine, warns him of the consequences he has to face, but the detective continues with his rogue investigation.
John Luther soon tracks down the identity of the killer and engages in a brief encounter with him. The tussle takes place in a metro station and provides an edge to the detective, who has to race against time to save more lives.

Moreover, it almost looks like that the cybercriminal has won the battle between good and evil, and is all set to eliminate Luther. However, the seasoned law enforcer turns the table by revealing that he already knew about his real identity, plan and location. And that the place will soon be bombarded by officers coming to their rescue.
