The premise of this rom-com is a confusing and weird look into a dysfunctional couple’s descent into madness after winning a lottery. Piotr and Natalia, previously in horrible jobs with little to no money, have their lives turned upside down when they win a million dollars. Things, unfortunately, take a turn when their happy news makes them doubt each other’s intentions.

This movie is so uncomfortable to watch and, although it would want you to believe that it’s a funny little ha ha moment, the people are really weird and the protagonists aren’t as charming as you’d expect. If anything, you’re left confused about whether or not we are supposed to root for the protagonists because both of them seem extremely childish and immature… and dangerous.

I don’t see what’s the romantic part of this rom-com because it is a thoroughly scary watch that doesn’t get better with the runtime. Couples fighting about the lack of money is common and expected, but couples trying to literally murder each other for the money seems unhinged, even for the worst people out there. Thus, trying to follow these two unhinged people seems like a slap in the face for a rom-com that wants to showcase two people falling in love with each other after going through difficult times.

I had to question the point of the story many times over the course of the runtime because Natalia and Piotr don’t seem to really like or understand each other. Petty fights are common in couples, but it doesn’t seem like they really are a good fit except for the convenient ending that just seems to brush the fact that the protagonists have been trying to murder each other under the carpet. We don’t discuss their reasons or go to the root of their misunderstandings. There, of course, is no therapy involved and we are simply expected to accept this as something that normal people do.

But if you thought things were insane now, it gets even more unhinged towards the end of the runtime when literally anything and everything happens without much rhyme or reason. Honestly, there’s not much I can review in this movie because nothing makes sense. incidents happen without any explanation and issues form and get solved extremely conveniently. At the end of the runtime, you will be left with many questions that don’t get answered and a happy ending that doesn’t feel deserved.

Kill Me If You Dare Review: Final Thoughts

This rom-com makes you scared to fall for someone, especially when money is involved. I failed to understand where the romance was and, trust me, I looked. This movie would work more as a thriller than a rom-com because. the situations are quite scary and won’t make anyone laugh!
