How I Met Your Father Season 2 Episode 12 Recap
Sophie is planning to find who her father is and she seeks her mother since she is the one who has seen him. Sadly, Sophie’s mother doesn’t remember his name but tells her that when she met him, he was working at the Lollapalooza and also has a unique tattoo. The clues aren’t much helpful but still, her bestfriend Val makes a cut with it.
Val figures three men’s names who worked during the 1991 Lollapalooza. They are Nick Foster, Rick Graham, and Dick Webber Morris. They all co-incidentally have an “ick” in their names. Sophie’s friends group themselves and start the search because Sophie can’t find all the three men by herself.
Sid and Jesse find Rick Graham at a gym and he is an asian man. This cocnludes that he is definitely not Sophie’s father. Then, Ellen and Charlie meet Dick Morris who runs an adult entertainment business. Since Dick’s ethnicity is similar to that of Sophie’s they believe that he could be her father.
Ellen and Charlie plan to join an entertainment show with him so they can deduce whether he really is Sophie’s dad. After many ups and downs during the process, Ellen and Charlie find that Dick Morris is not Sophie’s father. With that, it eventually points out that Nick Foster might be the real deal.
Sophie and Val go in search of Nick Foster who is said to be working at a hotdog shop. Sophie believes that Nick is dead for certain reasons and loses her hope as she sits beside the grave of Nick Foster. However, another man with a tattoo pays a visit to the grave, surprising Sophie, Val and the other friends (they joined the duo later).
The friends gang follow the man and believe he is Sophie’s father since for all the scenarios they placed before him, he acted wisely like a father would do. Sophie approaches the man alone at the hotdog restaurant but after she finds about Nick being a Met fan, she leaves the place and returns to Sid’s bar.
Sophie opens about her fear of rejection and that she doesn’t want her father to hate her or refuse her. Though she is happy that this man could possibly be her father, she denies talking to him. Surprisingly, the man visits Sid’s bar to see Sophie. Sophie is baffled and immediately leaves the bar, making the man feel helpless.
How I Met Your Father Season 2 Episode 12 Review: Final Thoughts
Why did this man come to Sid’s bar? Was it a coincidence or did he spot her following him? Or is he really the father and is aware of his daughter regularly coming to this place? All of these questions will be found in the next episode, maybe.
The next episode will mostly be about Sophie and her fear of facing her father (we are unsure whether the man really is her dad). There are also chances of other people’s life stories explained because Sid’s new friend, Taylor, whom he met on the plane is a hot topic. Additionally, will Val’s engagement get her into trouble? Because she believes that her young lover is kidding but what if he is serious, we don’t know. Also, when is Jesse going to confess his feelings to Sophie?
