House of the Dragon Episode 3 Preview: Road Ahead is Uncertain But the End is Clear

House of the Dragon Episode 3 Preview has been released soon after the second episode of the series titled ‘The Rogue Prince’ was released. In the episode, we see that the new heir to the throne, Rhaenyra oversteps at the Small Council and realises her position remains the same in the Red Keep. King Viserys is urged to secure succession through marriage and Daemon announces his intentions.

The episode works as a setting for the plot, where the King feels threatened by his brother, whom he regarded as harmless and loyal. Hand of the king Ser Otto Hightower is plotting his own trap to keep the King within his control, by being a permanent fixture in his council and pushing his daughter to form intimate relationships with him.

We see how women are like assets which can be used as transactions for more power. Like Princess Rhaenys Velaryon and Lord Corlys Velaryon offering their underage daughter to marry the King and the temporary placement of Rhaenyra, until the King has a male heir.

In the House of the Dragon Episode 3 Preview, we see that the King has married Alicent Hightower and even gave birth to a son named Aegon, who is assured to be the next king. The firstborn son threatens Rhaenyra’s claim to the throne and even Viserys suggests she get married and have her own children.

However, Rhaenyra does not wish to get married and runs away from the castle after an argument. She feels lonely as we hear her say, ‘no one’s here for me.’ On the other side, Prince Daemon and Lord Corlys ally for the Stepstones seems to be losing as he says that, ‘the Crabfeeder has dug in for siege on Bloodstone and Crabs will soon dine on all of us!’

Until the dragon unleashes his fire and could be a game changer for Prince Daemon, who was seen getting shot by an arrow. This battle in the Stepstones will be a defining moment and could favour Daemon if he wins the war and restores peace. But it will also declare was with the Free Cities who back Stepstones and Crabfeeder, Craghas Drahar.

House of the Dragon is released on HBO at 6 PM PT and HBO Max at 9 PM ET every Sunday. It is also streaming on Disney+ Hotstar for Indian viewers and is released at 6:30 AM IST every Monday.
