However, it doesn’t take time for a spark between Dong-ju and Woo-jin to set off when the two meet in the staff room. The former then makes his way to the trauma centre and begins his journey ahead as the interim head of the centre.

Meanwhile, Eun-tak struggles to patch things up with Ah-reum even after getting Dong-hwa’s advice of giving her flowers. On the other hand, Ho-joon is distressed after finding out that his junior Dong-ju is the new head of the trauma centre and goes around trying to create a ruckus. Unfortunately, he is ignored by all including Min-guk.

Elsewhere, Woo-jin begins to get restless as he is stopped from going to the ER. At the Trauma Centre, Dong-ju begins his work and gathers the staff there to put forth his rules. He tells them that the trauma centre will now only take severe trauma cases while the non-trauma cases will be sent to Doldam Hospital.

While this shocks everyone present there, Kim Sa-bu tells them to follow whatever Dong-ju wants to do and give him their support. Soon, the days at the trauma centre changed as the non-trauma cases are sent to Doldam Hospital. While this puts pressure on the hospital, the trauma centre is vacant for 3 whole days.

While Eun-jae and In-su go on speaking out the jinx words, the former gets a call from Sun-woong who tells her about an emergency case. Eun-jae takes this to Dong-ju only to be told that this needs to be passed to Kim Sa-bu, even though the latter is in surgery.

Unable to take this attitude from Dong-ju, Eun-jae loses her cool and rushes to the hospital to perform surgery on the patient. As soon as she leaves, the phone at the trauma centre rings and victims of a collision are soon to come. Dong-ju soon arranges for the trauma patients to enter the trauma centre while the others are sent to the hospital.

While waiting for the patients to arrive, he finds out that Eun-jae has gone to the hospital for surgery. This leaves him worried as he now has three trauma patients to handle all by himself. Meanwhile, Kim Sa-bu too finds out about this and is angered by the mess that has been made.

While he wants to head to the trauma centre, he remembers the promise made to Dong-ju to not come for his help until asked. Woo-jin finds out about what has happened and rushes to the trauma centre to help Dong-ju. Meanwhile, Eun-jae tries to finish her surgery as soon as possible.

The staff at the hospital take care of the non-trauma patient, however, it seems like one of them is hiding an injury that has been masked by menstrual cramps. At the trauma centre, Dong-ju is flustered by the situation but does not lose his cool as he begins for emergency treatment of the patients.

Right then Woo-jin arrives to assist him in the treatment. While everyone is surprised, Dong-ju doesn’t stop him from doing so and the two work together to save the patients. While the emergency treatment of the first patient succeeds, the second patient is unable to survive.

This frustrates Dong-ju and asks for the little girl who was brought to the trauma centre to be sent to the hospital as she was not a trauma patient but someone Dong-ju wanted to treat. He then calls Eun-jae and screams at her for neglecting her position at the trauma centre which then infuriates Woo-jin.

Woo-jin then snatches the phone from him and tells Eun-jae to carry on after which he gets into an argument with Dong-ju. While he tries to support his side by stating that this is how he was taught from following Kim Sa-bu, Dong-ju is infuriated by his behaviour and moves to prepare the other patient for surgery.

He then sees Kim Sa-bu standing outside who then remembers Dong-ju’s words that while he can represent the kind of approach they should have, he cannot be the goal for the young doctors. Kim Sa-bu now sees the meaning of his words and brings a disappointed expression when looking at Woo-jin standing there with an injured hand.

Elsewhere, Eun-jae rushes after finishing up her surgery while Dong-ju is ready to begin his surgery. On the other hand, Ah-reum notices a problem with one of the patients brought into the hospital.

An extra clip later shows the dilemma Ah-reum and Eun-tak face as the two share their feelings and point of view with others. While Ah-reum’s words are clearly making sense to everyone, the men helping Eun-tak are unable to identify the problem.

Dr Romantic Season 3 Episode 13 Review

A clash between the ideal and reality is what we would call what happened between Woo-jin and Dong-ju in today’s episode. On the other hand, Kim Sa-bu understands a problem that he had neglected this whole time.

Episode 13 brought quite a rollercoaster and a reality check for us all as Kang Dong-ju makes his move after his return to Doldam. He has definitely come prepared for Doldam and the result of his hard work this whole time is clearly visible in this episode.

The staff at the Trauma Centre are definitely used to the hustle-bustle of Doldam, and this is why Dong-ju is making the rules to bring about the proper order. This episode has surely become an eye-opener for Woo-jin, not just watching Dong-ju’s fast movements which are similar to those of Kim Sa-bu’s, but also to help him see beyond Kim Sa-bu.

While the events have been quite a lesson for many, this episode also brought the warmth of Doldam after the bright welcome Dong-ju received from everyone. The scene was definitely a highlight that cannot be missed because this was a special Doldam welcome.
