All the Light We Cannot See Trailer: Mark Ruffalo Starrer Ignites Hope as the City Burns in the World War II Epic

All the Light We Cannot See is an upcoming Netflix adaptation of the war novel of the same name by Anthony Doerr. The show is directed and executive produced by Shawn Levy, who previously worked on Stranger Things. The show stars Aria Mia Loberti alongside Mark Ruffalo, Hugh Laurie and Louis Hofmann in the lead roles. Steven Knight from Peaky Blinders writes the script for the limited series.

The four-part series will centre around a blind French teen girl named Marie-Laure and a German soldier named Werner, whose fates interject in occupied France during World War II. Composer James Newton Howard gives the music.

The trailer opens with the lead character Marie-Laure LeBlanc, a blind French teenage girl using an old-fashioned radio. She is trying to strike up a conversation with someone on the other line. A German soldier named Werner Pfennig sits on the other end. A couple of leaflets fly outside her window, and a building burns nearby to showcase occupied France during World War II. Marie has been born without vision and seeks support from her father, Daniel LeBlanc, who works at the Museum of Natural History in Paris.

Suddenly the scene shifts to showcase Werner travelling to train as a soldier for Nazi Germany. However, some clips suggest that he is bullied by his fellow cadets in the facility. On the other hand, Marie suffers as her country is being attacked by the Nazis. Scenes of the burning city are shown, and a ruthless officer interrogates her about her missing father. However, both of them remain in contact through the radio and get by their hard days with calming conversations.

The two teenagers start to develop an unlikeliest relationship with each other that blooms into something more intense. Werner is against whatever his country stands for and is forced to fight the Nazi Regime. The first trailer has managed to create enough excitement among the audience, and it will be interesting to witness how the story unfolds.

Lars Eidinger and Andrea Deck will also appear in the series in pivotal roles. Netflix and 21 Laps Entertainment announced the development of the series back in 2019, and the filming began in late 2021.
