Ms Incognito Episode 3 Recap

The episode opens in Muchang as Mi-sun instructs Dong-min to fetch Yeong-ran from the bus station. Although she’s initially hesitant, she realises that Dong-min doesn’t recognise her and feels much more relaxed. Back in Seoul, Sun-yeong tries to get Yeong-ran’s marriage annulled by claiming that her father had dementia and that she had manipulated him to marry her and get her money. At Muchang, Yeong-ran feels annoyed at Dong-min’s hospitality but settles into her idyllic new life nicely.

As Yeong-ran thinks back to her conversations with Sung-ho, especially the consequences of murdering Ye-rim’s killer, she is faced with the reality of her new life and wonders whether anyone knows her real identity. Meanwhile, Seon-woo employs a hitman to find and kill Yeong-ran, but that proves to be more difficult than expected. So they settle for simply finding Yeong-ran and her mother.

At Muchang, Dong-min tries to rally everyone against Yeong-ran, going by a random article on the internet, but Yeong-ran’s warm behaviour towards them makes the villagers go against Dong-min! They ask him to go after her and take care of her, but it leaves Yeong-ran suspicious. At the supermarket, the villagers decide that they must keep Yeong-ran in the village if there’s a chance for their children to get a good education.

As Dong-min and Yeong-ran clash over their differing personalities, she discovers his son hiding in the tent in her living room. The two have a delightful interaction and, eventually, it’s time for Yeong-ran to join the classroom. Elsewhere, Sun-yeong tries her best to get her hands on Sung-ho’s will as well as find Yeong-ran, but with an airtight plan, finding holes becomes difficult. Thus, she decides to file a missing persons report to find their new “mother.”

Problems arise when Mi-sun investigates Bu Se-mi’s background and finds a few flaws, which completely blow her cover. Yeong-ran has no other option but to tell her the truth and promise to sell her the kindergarten land after three months in exchange for her discretion. However, Dong-min overhears part of their conversation and starts to question Yeong-ran’s real intentions.

I have started to look forward to watching Ms Incognito after just one week because it’s week was simply fantastic. However, episode 3 is slower, with Yeong-ran settling into her new normal and finding her rhythm in a new place. The Muchang characters are amusing, albeit a bit obvious. Meanwhile, the Seoul storyline remains sidelined, but I am hoping it picks up steam tomorrow. All in all, this one’s entertaining but misses the punch of episodes 1 and 2.
