The Swimmers Teaser: An Incredible Journey From War-Torn Syria to the Olympics!

Netflix is back with the teaser of its upcoming movie The Swimmers which shouts incredible in just 90 seconds! The upcoming drama film is directed by Sally El Hosaini who also co-wrote the screenplay with Jack Thorne. The movie stars Manal Issa, Nathalie Issa, Ahmed Malek, Matthias Schweighöfer, Ali Suliman, Kinda Alloush, alongside other cast members.

The movie catches the journey of two sisters Yusra and Sarah Mardini who flee from civil war-torn Syria and make their way to Greece through Lebanon, Turkey and the Aegean sea.

But the journey by water is not easy; when the engine of the dinghy is cut leaving the two sisters and two others who could swim to save the lives of the others on board. Just a year after this experience, the sisters make their way to the 2016 Rio Olympics as part of the Refugee Olympic team.

The trailer shows scenes of the sisters in their hometown in Syria where the bombing takes place right in the middle of a swimming event. Having narrowly escaped that, the two are seen in the middle of the wide sea, hopeless, tired, and scared.

The scene interchange with the pair participating in two swimming events in the Rio Olympics where they recall the journey that they have been on since they left their home behind. Their talent, will and fearlessness really did make a huge impact on their lives as well as on those whom they have saved.

The movie is a real-life story of the sister and is not one to miss. The incredible yet beautiful journey of the two who inspired the world with their story was definitely not easy and it will be making its way to theatres in November.

The movie is also set to release on November 23, 2022, on Netflix.
