The Endless Night Ending Explained
We start by seeing a birthday party, it is Mari’s 20th birthday, and she plans to celebrate it big. At the time, her parents are pestering her about the job and asking her what she is doing about the future. It cuts from her to a pair of brothers going out to the club, one towards his and the other towards another club. Cut to another son going to the club to date around and see who he can hook up with. A pair of friends from college also make their way to the club.
Every kid gets a chance to have their story told as they walk their way towards the same fate. The nightclub is bustling with people, definitely more than they can handle, but the kids are having fun, and things cannot get that bad. Soon, their favourite artist comes up on stage and starts singing while waving his hand in the air. The waving hand is holding a firework, slowly lighting the ceiling on fire. By the time people start getting to know what is happening, the fire has engulfed the ceiling and is falling to the ground.

People are hustling towards the solitary exit in this club while there is a stampede waiting to come. There is a push and pull towards the exit because the usher is not letting them leave without paying. Finally, as they make their way outside, other people in the club try to find an alternate exit. The police have arrived, but the fire department arrives late enough to find bodies littered on the ground outside and on the dance floor inside.
Family members cannot keep themselves together, finding their children in a row outside or somewhere in the hospital, losing consciousness. Mari’s parents are particularly stressed after they go to two hospitals looking for their daughter and her friends. They only find her the next morning, as one of the unidentified bodies at the city gymnasium. They find multiple families sobbing and mourning their children.
All of them rally together to create an association with the police officer helping them get an idea of what the situation is going to be like. This association implores the prosecution to look at the case and all those who were related to the case on trial. In the beginning, it seemed like the prosecutors had their back helping them prove the accused’s crimes and filing a murder case against them. However, the plaintiffs slowly recognise that the prosecutors are not doing anything to set a trial with the politicians behind this.

Detectives found a link to the club’s faulty and laidback inspection processes. Nearly everyone who looked at the club decided to let many safety code violations slide and did nothing to make up for it later. In fact, there were so many inspections buried by City Hall that the detectives also wanted to file a criminal case against them.
As prosecutors try to fight the case against the acquitted, there are problems in that they don’t seem to share everything with their plaintiffs. This causes rifts between them, and the family members start spreading private information about the people involved in the case. They want the truth about the fire to come out and are doing everything to make it happen.
However, the prosecutors take this as a personal insult and file defamation and slander cases against the plaintiffs. There is some back and forth and tussle about whether what they said is true about the accused or not. They fast forward to two years, four years, five years and finally, 6 years after the fire. The families are still fighting for their right to get justice for the tragic event that took place in their lives.

In the concluding card, we see that the families are yet to receive any sort of closure because the accused were let go because of some reason. There was supposed to be a trial in March 2020 but was postponed because of the pandemic. There was another trial in December of 2021, the case is still in the air. It is truly surprising that there is enough corruption to keep something like this going for so long.
The Endless Night is available to stream on Netflix. Do you think the families will receive justice? Let us know in the comments below.
