The trailer for Extraction 2 is finally out after months of anticipation to watch Chris Hemsworth back in action. From the director of Avengers: Endgame, Sam Hargrave and The Russo Brothers’ AGBO producing, the sequel has already caused excitement among the fans ahead of its release. Golshifteh Farahani reprises her role from the first film, with Daniel Bernhardt and Tinatin Dalakishvili also co-starring.
Based on the graphic novel Ciudad by Ande Parks, Joe Russo, Anthony Russo, Fernando León González, and Eric Skillman, the story centres around mercenary Tyler Rake, who has returned to save yet another client who needs protection from the bad guys. Additionally, Joe Russo is credited as the writer.
The trailer starts by introducing Hemsworth, who came back from the dead after nine months of being bedridden following the casualties he faced in the previous movie. However, the man has survived the near-death experience and is ready to get back on the field. He is still filled with the pain of losing his child and reminisces about the times with him together.
Approached with another contract, the man is specifically requested by the client because of his expertise and highly defined skills. He is instantly sent on a mission and met with action where he has to take down an entire group of assailants trying to capture the clients. But the story is not as straight forward as it seems, as he shares a similar past with the ones he is responsible for protecting.
Moreover, the ultimate villain in the movie is much more dangerous, calculative and powerful than the one before. Even though we do not fully understand the connection between the antagonist and his victims but it can be figured that there is a deeper storyline that will converge everything together by the end, providing a full picture of the events.
Apart from a stellar cast, the crew and production team is filled with one of the best ones in the industry. Expectations from the movie is spectacularly high, both story-wise and delivering action-packed sequences. It is definitive to point out that the film consists of many heart-wrenching moments that will give the audience an instant adrenaline rush. The viewers are eagerly waiting for the movie to witness how the story unfolds.
