The first installment of Korean drama Bitch x Rich was an unexpected hit that left fans speechless. And now, the fierce psychological chess game that defined the first season is back to leave us sleepless in Bitch x Rich Season 2! The original series, which premiered in May 2023, follows Kim Hye‑in, an underprivileged student who witnesses a classmate’s murder and uses her silence as leverage to get into the prestigious Cheongdam International High School.
Once in, she decides to go after Je-na, the suspect behind the murder and the powerful leader of the school’s clique, Diamond 6. The show subverts expectations with its characters, who are flawed and morally ambiguous. While one would expect the antagonist to be morally questionable, making Hye-in into a person the viewers couldn’t trust either was a great move. The tense 35-minute runtime is packed with psychological warfare and a tense atmosphere that will leave you breathless as Hye-in navigates the ruthless hierarchy of her elite school.
Bitch x Rich Season 2 Plot
The second season furthers the storyline from season 1 and picks up after the fall of Oh Si-eun. The once ruthless hierarchy is now in shambles, with Hye-in now a part of the Diamond 6. Not to mention, she is now a two-time murder witness, which comes with its own set of complications. Meanwhile, Je-na has a hard time holding on to her queen bee status at school as she is ruthlessly scrutinised and is under intense and growing suspicions.
In an already contentious scenario enters Cha Jin-wook, a third-generation chaebol heir, who is hell-bent on disrupting the existing power dynamics, and hopeless romantic Lee Sa-rang, who can go to any lengths to protect Hye-in. The two add a different angle to the power dynamics in the school and give rise to more competition in this youth battle.
Bitch x Rich Season 2 Cast and Crew
Lee Eun-saem and Kim Ye-rim return as Hye-in and Je-na, respectively, along with Lee Jong‑hyuk, Park Si‑woo, Jang Deok-su, and Jang Sung-yoon also return from season 1. New cast members this season are Kim Min-kyu as Cha Jin-wook and Won Kyu-bin as Lee Sa-rang.
Bitch x Rich Season 2 will be directed by Lim Dae-woong, who is known for his work in Night Has Come and Search, and written by Kwak Young-im.
