Love Take Two Episode 8 Recap

The episode opens with Jeong-seok comforting Ji-an after the heartbreaking events in the last episode. The next morning, they both wake up giddy as their hearts flutter for one another. Either way, Ji-an gives Moon-hee something to eat and asks her to stay with them for the time being to help them out in the store. Later, Ji-an learns that Yeo-jeong and Jeong-seok will go to her university to deliver a lecture and decides to go as well, if only to prove to herself that she won’t be bored.

Meanwhile, Bo-hyeon comforts Hyo-ri, who is upset with Moon-hee for her antics the previous day. However, Bo-hyeon’s words leave her happy, and the two spend a good evening together. The next morning, Ji-an goes out with Jeong-seok and Yeo-jeong to a very uncomfortable seminar, wherein the latter constantly tells her that she is SO MUCH better at everything. It’s annoying and uncomfortable and leaves Jeong-seok absolutely irate. She leaves when she overhears others gossiping about Jeong-seok and calling him stupid for getting back together with Yeo-jeong.

Jeong-seok, too, gives her a piece of her mind after her seminar and leaves her there after calling her selfish and unfeeling. He meets up with Ji-an and eventually falls into a nearby fountain accidentally, enjoying a fun-filled afternoon childishly. The next morning, Hyo-ri’s moping and Ji-an’s spacing out cause Sun-yeong to throw them both out, and the two spend a wonderful afternoon together having fun and opening up to one another. Meanwhile, Mi-mi comforts Moon-hee and reminds her to live for nothing but to remember her son and cry for him since she, too, has gone through the same pain.

That night, after meeting Bo-hyeon, Hyo-ri stumbles upon Jeong-seok while Ji-an shares her worries and her grief with Moon-hee, telling her to lean on them if she struggles in the future. Afterwards, Moon-hee talks to Hyo-ri and apologises for her behaviour the other night and promises never to do it again, telling her that she will be the dependable mother that her own daughter always wanted. Meanwhile, Jeong-seok shares that he, too, had a crush on Ji-an when they were younger.

Love Take Two has been an incredible watch these past few weeks, and the way it handles trauma is simply fantastic. There isn’t one episode where I am not entertained – it’s either happy or sad, but never a boring time. From the performances to the conversations, everything about this drama hits home, and its relatability is something that is making me look forward to what’s to come. Is this the best slice-of-life drama of 2025? Possibly. But we will have to wait till the end for the verdict!
