Dynamite Kiss Episode 5 Recap
Episode 5 of Dynamite Kiss begins right where the previous episode left off, with Ji-hyeok bursting in to rescue Da-rim from the loan sharks. Overwhelmed by shock and fear, Da-rim collapses, leaving Ji-hyeok no choice but to scoop her into his arms and rush her to safety. Once she recovers, he drops her home, though the moment does not go unnoticed. Seon-u watches them from a distance, jealousy flickering across his face, making it painfully clear that his feelings for Da-rim are far deeper than mere neighbourly concern.
The following day at the office, Ji-hyeok struggles to justify why he risked so much for Da-rim, insisting to himself that it is purely because she is part of his team. To disguise the growing protectiveness he feels, he decides to make her life difficult again. He nitpicks everything, from what shoes she must wear at work to making her take the stairs repeatedly, smugly reminding her that her organs now belong to him since he cleared her loan. The message is clear: she owes him, and he intends to hold it over her.

Da-rim, broke and with no other option, swallows her pride and endures his unreasonable demands. Meanwhile, Ha-yeong manages to secure Seon-u as the photographer for a new Natural BeBe project, and she becomes increasingly drawn to his quiet charm, even if he has eyes only for Da-rim.
As the team’s project progresses successfully under Ji-hyeok’s leadership, they take a short road trip to plant trees as part of an environmental scheme. While there, Ji-hyeok stops at a tree he once planted with his mother. Da-rim notices the emotional significance and offers to take photos so he can show them to his mum in hospital. As she snaps a few shots, she also witnesses a surprisingly adorable moment: the mighty, intimidating Ji-hyeok jumping away in terror from a tiny ladybird. Later when recounting this to Seon-u, she smiles brightly, unaware of how much it stings him to hear her speak so fondly of another man.

During the trip, Da-rim spots a struggling parent battling with a baby nappy. She helps out and learns that the parent supports a nappy brand that donates part of its profits to environmental causes. Inspired, Da-rim brings this idea to Ji-hyeok, and he successfully convinces the company to incorporate a similar initiative. Impressed by her initiative, he appoints her as project lead, giving her a long-awaited chance to shine.
Soon after, Ha-yeong assigns Seon-u as the photographer for this upgraded project. Ji-hyeok, completely unaware that Seon-u is the “fake husband” Da-rim uses to keep her double life intact, brings him into the team without hesitation. Seon-u, thrilled to work closely with Da-rim, embraces the opportunity, acting the part of her loving partner a little too well.

The business trip includes an overnight dinner with the team to celebrate their progress. During the day, Ha-yeong arranges a birthday photoshoot with Seon-u, her feelings deepening rapidly. That evening, surrounded by co-workers, Seon-u continues to act smitten with Da-rim, calling her “honey” and playing the perfect husband. The entire group gushes over how adorable they are together, but Da-rim is left flustered and confused by Seon-u’s sudden affection, completely unaware of his genuine emotions.
Later that night, Ha-yeong asks Ji-hyeok to join her outside for a walk while Da-rim steps out for some fresh air as well. As Ji-hyeok wanders the grounds, he accidentally stumbles upon Ha-yeong kissing Seon-u. Ha-yeong, by this point unable to hide her feelings, begs Seon-u not to share a room with Da-rim. Ji-hyeok, misunderstanding entirely, assumes Seon-u is cheating on his wife with Ha-yeong.

Before Da-rim can witness the painful scene, Ji-hyeok spins around and pulls her into a tight hug, shielding her from what he believes will break her heart. The camera holds on his conflicted expression, and the episode ends with a stunned embrace, leaving us questioning which relationship will explode first.
Dynamite Kiss Episode 5 Review
Episode 5 is pure chaos, pettiness and romantic jealousy rolled into one delicious rom-com sandwich. Watching him tease her with staircases and weird footwear rules while secretly falling for her is the exact enemies-to-lovers flavour fans signed up for. Meanwhile, Seon-u has officially entered his “I pretend not to care but internally I’m dying” phase. His jealous face when he sees Ji-hyeok carrying Da-rim? Priceless.

The episode also brings heart into the chaos. Da-rim seeing Ji-hyeok’s vulnerable side at the eco-trip and helping with the tree photo melted both her and our hearts… while ladybugs nearly killed him. The love triangle intensifies when Seon-u joins the project as the fake husband and overacts like it is an Oscar-winning performance. It all culminates in that shocking seaside-night sequence: a secret kiss, a shocked Ji-hyeok, and the most protective hug of the series so far. Mess? Absolutely. Fun? One hundred percent. Romance is about to blow up… quite literally.
