Nice to Not Meet You Episode 7 Review: Lim Ji-yeon

The episode begins with some tension between Jae-hyung and Hwa-young as she confronts him about his attention to Jeong-in. Hwa-young also forces a kiss on him out of jealousy and tells him to consider it as his birthday present, shocking another member of their office who accidentally saw them together. On the other hand, Jung-ho, the actor who got outed for being in a relationship with a much younger doctor, claims that the person with whom he was caught was actually his biological daughter. This is why, for defamation, he plans to sue the editor who spread false information.

After the party, Jae-hyung decides to take Jeong-in to her home as she was too drunk. But that is when Hyun-jun calls, and as Jeong-in was too drunk to take it, Jae-hyung answers the call. After listening to a male voice, Hyun-jun becomes shocked. However, the situation at Jeong-in’s office becomes dire, and she realises that there must be a deep controversy happening regarding Jung-ho and his claim.

She knows that he has political ties, and he is arguing that he got framed because he does not want any controversy. This is why Jeong-in goes to his house to get an interview, and after waiting for the entire night, he finally lets her in.  Instead of begging for forgiveness, she literally threatens him that if he does not drop the lawsuit, he will find himself in a worse situation.

Jeong-in and Hyun-jun finally take up another call to clear the misunderstanding. Their call goes very well, and Hyun-jun learns that Jeong-in is unmarried, which makes him very happy. Another bomb drops on Jeong-in as she gets presented with a paternity test that shows that the woman whom she thought was a mistress was indeed the biological daughter of Jung-ho. After some time, Hyun-jun sees Jeong-in with Jae-hyung having lunch, and even though they don’t talk, it is apparent that Hyun-jun does feel some type of jealousy due to that.

Hilarity ensues because Hyun-jun wants to introduce a romance angle in his drama, but the writer is not interested at all. Weirdly enough, later, Hyun-jun calls Jeong-in to set up a meeting. There, he tells her that he also feels somewhat responsible for the situation she landed herself in. Though he tries to advise her to ask for forgiveness, she says that she will not and prepares to leave. On her way out, Jeong-in also confronts Hyun-jun about whether he failed her brother at his audition because of her or not.

Though they fight, they quickly make up as well, and Jeong-in finally tells Hyun-jun how she got into journalism. However, after listening to her story, Hyun-jun takes her to Jung-ho’s house to make her apologise, and Jeong-in was not happy about it. She reveals some deep secrets about the veteran actor that completely shocks Hyun-jun.

Later, we see that Hyun-jun is chatting with his online friend, with whom he is getting closer. But something completely absurd happens as Hyun-jun decides to join Jung-ho’s agency and makes him drop the charges against Jeong-in. However, he does this for other reasons, as he plans to take down Jung-ho from within.

Today’s episode was interesting and decently funny. There is not much happening apart from light-hearted developments. Hopefully, Jeong-in and Hyun-jun will find out about secretly liking each other soon.
