Di4ries Ending Explained

During the last few episodes, we see that Monica figures out why Giulio is behind in class even after studying diligently. She thinks he is dyslexic and when he gets stuck during his oral exam, she tells it to the whole class so they can understand him better. But Giulio gets offended and even leaves the basketball team as he has to go to the child specialist now.

At the specialist’s clinic, he meets Arianna there as well and forges a secretive friendship. Meanwhile, Livia and the gang try to find out the culprit behind the graffiti wall that got Pietro suspended. During the investigation, they find a note with the same handwriting on Livia’s notebook, which was written by Matteo.

Although Livia rubbishes the allegation about Matteo when Giulio and Daniele try to find clues in his phone they see Matteo’s picture with the graffiti wall and the spray paints, they report it and Pietro comes back from suspension. However, Livia finally breaks up with Matteo and focuses on her upcoming triathlon race.

After coming second in the races, in the final match, Livia finally breaks free from the hurdles in her head and wins the race at the last moment. Unfortunately, everything doesn’t go so well as Pietro gets friend-zoned by Livia but Giulio & Arianna become better friends after he helps her with the period emergency.

On the other hand, we see that Mirko starts to see the real side of his brother’s cool friends after he doesn’t get Tancredi’s concert tickets. But his brother somehow gets everyone in the concert by working at the venue for free. The singer even comes for a special lecture in the school at Daniele’s invite.

Pietro’s parents are also getting separated and he feels that it is because of him and gets hurt while playing basketball with Matteo. So for the last match before school closes, Mirko takes his place but Michele gets injured during the game. Thus, Pietro takes his place and his final shot wins them the game.

In the last episode, Pietro and Livia start dating and class 2D decides to camp out in their classroom until their wishes are fulfilled. Before that Pietro & Giulio’s conversation about the kissing bet is heard and recorded by Matteo who later sends it to Livia. Trapped in the classroom, when she hears it, she takes her bag and goes out of the school.

The teachers and parents praise her maturity and ask her to go back and try to influence her classmates to give up as well. But instead, she decides to take the stand for what she believes and makes a spray paint banner that says, ‘students first’. She tells Pietro that she will deal with him later and because of him, she won’t betray her friends.

Has Netflix Renewed the Series For Di4ries Season 2?

Di4ries series ends with the students camped in their classroom and we don’t get to know what lies in the school’s future. Currently, there has been no announcement from Netflix or its makers whether another season is happening or not. But considering the incomplete ending, the possibility is certainly high.

Still from Di4ries

The series is one of the first Italian series targeting a young audience. The ending leaves a lot of things unanswered and if season 2 happens, it would explore the new lives of the class 2D in Marina Grande or they might get successful in staying in their school. We would also like to see what happens to Livia and Pietro’s relationship.

Will they sought out their differences or will Livia decide to live a life on her own terms, not trapped or surrounded by her peers and their perspectives. It’s too early to speculate anything but if the larger audience likes the series then the creators might take the multi-narrative story forward.

Di4ries is streaming on Netflix.
