Barry Season 4 Episode 4 Review

The episode raises the bar for the series and creates a unique turn of events for different characters. It ends in a horrible fashion for NoHo Hank and might be pivotal in the breathtaking season finale (something that will terribly impact Berkman for sure).
Furthermore, it finally lifts some suspense over Berkman’s vision and provides us with a new trajectory for the hitmen turned actor. If the last scene is believed to be true (and not another misleading cliffhanger) then we can definitely expect the story to shift some years in the future.
As the episode progresses, the various subplots come together, building towards a climax that is both shocking and thrilling. The characters are all going to be interconnected at last, with each one bringing their own unique motivations to the table.
One of the best moments of the episode is the role of Sean Heder. Her cameo is a clever nod to the struggles that many artists face when trying to transition from one genre to another, and her interactions with Sally add an extra layer of depth to the show’s examination of the acting world.
Gene’s fate is tragic, and might not fit well with the fans. The acting maestro has borne the brunt of almost all the havoc and is transitioning into a paranoia of his own. Therefore it will be crucial to see how everything pans out for him in the next episode.
