BS High Cast

The cast involves Roy Johnson, coach of the Bishop Sycamore High School, the Bishop Sycamore Centurions. Along with him, we will have his former colleagues Andre Peterson and John Branham as well as former players of the football team and their family members. We will also hear from journalists Bomani Jones and Andrew King, and sports investigator Ben Ferree.

BS High Plot/Storyline

When the Bishop Sycamore Centurions lost to IMG Academy, Florida, on August 29, 2021, with a blowout score of 58-0, it sparked an investigation into the very authenticity of Bishop Sycamore High School. The team’s administration was questioned with regard to its members and their credentials and whether they were fabricated.

But this happened after the team had already played numerous games in the previous two years i.e. 2019 and 2020, with the final one being aired on ESPN itself. So one can imagine the media circus that followed when the legitimacy of the school came into question and ultimately proved to be a scam.

In the trailer, we hear from the coach, Roy Johnson who is in for a debate about his actions which he seems to be proud of. His mannerisms show that he owns his deeds (training the boys, etc.) and isn’t ashamed of them but is rather proud. After all his team’s game was being aired live. But this is not the case for the others that we hear from. These include the players/students of Bishop Sycamore High who had been manipulated and wronged badly as well as Johnson’s former colleagues who knew him.

The show will also throw light on the system that runs high school sports; the system that Johnson clearly took advantage of without breaking any law as he states in the trailer. The outcome of the scandal and where Johnson presently stands are what we are going to find out.
