It is based on Erich Maria Remarque’s 1929 novel of the same name. The film is directed by Edward Berger and stars Felix Kammerer, Albrecht Schuch, Daniel Brühl, Sebastian Hülk, Aaron Hilmer, Edin Hasanovic and Devid Striesow. Directed by Maria Schrader and written by Rebecca Lenkiewicz, She Said is based on the 2019 book by reporters Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey with the same title. Zoe Kazan plays Kantor in the film alongside Carey Mulligan, who stars as reporter Twohey. The biographical drama is about the two reporters investigating and exposing Harvey Weinstein’s abuse and violence against women.
The Black Phone
A coming-of-age supernatural horror film, The Black Phone is directed and written by Scott Derrickson. The film is an adaptation of the 2004 short story of the same name by Joe Hill and, stars Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, Jeremy Davies, James Ransone, and Ethan Hawke. A wonderful psychological thriller with the wonderful psychological Florence Pugh at the centre, The Wonder is directed by Sebastián Lelio with a screenplay from Emma Donoghue, Lelio, and Alice Birch that is based on the 2016 novel of the same name by Emma Donoghue. Alongside Pugh, we have Tom Burke, Niamh Algar, Elaine Cassidy, Dermot Crowley, Brían F. O’Byrne, David Wilmot, Ruth Bradley, Caolán Byrne, Josie Walker, Ciarán Hinds, Toby Jones and Kíla Lord Cassidy in the cast. The film is about an English nurse who is sent to a rural Irish village to watch the miraculous ‘fasting girl’, who is surviving without eating. The film is streaming on Netflix.

Timothee Chalamet and Luca Guadagnino come together for yet another film but, this time in the genre of horror. The screenplay is by David Kajganich and is based on the 2015 novel of the same name by Camille DeAngelis. Taylor Russell and Timothée Chalamet are the leads in the film who are cannibals on the run and on the edge of falling in love with one another.
The Good Nurse
The Good Nurse is based on the 2013 true-crime book of the same name by Charles Graeber. It stars Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne, and talks about how nurse Amy Loughren suspected and helped catch her co-worker Charles Cullen, who was a serial killer. Directed by Tobias Lindholm, the screenplay is written by Krysty Wilson-Cairns. The film is available on Netflix.
Lady Chatterley’s Lover
D.H Lawrence has always been a controversial writer with Lady Chatterley’s Lover being his last. Netflix’s 2022 romantic drama starring Emma Corrin and Jack O’Connell is based on the same. Directed by Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre from a screenplay by David Magee, the film tells the story of a woman who has fallen out of love with her husband and starts a torrid affair with her husband’s gamekeeper.
