It stars Cary Grant and Joan Fontaine in the lead roles, while Hitchcock and Harry E Edington serve as the producer. 3. Vertigo(1958)

One of the most perfect films by the Maestro of the genre is Vertigo. Not only it earned him several accolades but also established Hitchcock as the greatest of all time. Furthermore, the plot of the film revolves around a detective who suffers from a phobia of height. He then becomes obsessed with a friend’s wife, which ultimately leads him into a spiral of suspense and horror. Easily, this one of the best Alfred Hitchcock Movies of all time.

The film stars James Stewart in the role of detective and protagonist. While its screenplay was written by Samuel A. Taylor, Maxwell Anderson, and Alec Coppel, and adapted from The Living and the Dead by Boileau-Narcejac.

4. Rebecca(1940)

The plot of Rebecca centres around an innocent woman who marries a widower and later learns the truth about his ex-wife. The film is filled with suspense-worthy moments, followed by chilling revelations. Notably, this is the among the most widely regarded Alfred Hitchcock Movies.

The film was adapted from the novel Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, and the screenplay was written by Robert E Sherwood and Joan Harrison. It stars Joan Fontaine, Laurence Olivier, Judith Anderson, George Sanders, Reginald Denny, Gladys Cooper C and R. Aubrey Smith.

5. Psycho (1960)

The magnum opus of Alfred Hitchcock Movies will always find its place in a list like this. Where the classic flag bearer of the suspense/horror genre will always remain at the top of the pedestal. Furthermore, the story of Psycho revolves around a strange encounter between Marion Cane and Norman Bates that leads to a horror-filled investigation.

It stars Anthony Perkins, Vera Miles, John Gavin, Martin Balsam and Janet Leigh in prominent roles. The film was produced by Joseph Stefano and produced by Hitchcock himself.

  1. The 1940 version of Rebecca is not on Netflix in the U.S, though I’m not sure if it’s available elsewhere. Netflix U. S. has the 2020 film, directed by Ben Wheatley.
