Walking on Thin Ice Episode 7 Recap

The episode opens after the Phantom gang members’ arrest from the last episode, while Eun-soo and Kyeong lament about being blackmailed with a photo of them removing Dong-hyun from her home. They wonder whether it’s someone closer to them instead of a Phantom member and start to look at those around them. Meanwhile, Mi-yeon’s life spirals downwards as Eun-soo curses herself for trying to burn her hard-earned money, as she now has to get into the selling business once again.

Eun-soo starts to spiral, and Kyeong takes the reins to control the situation and calmly asks her to think of who can be after her. She finally tells him about Tae-gu visiting her home, and Kyeong is incensed to learn that she hid things from him again. She lets him have a piece of her mind, but Kyeong reminds her that she came to him first, so, by that definition, she’s using him.

The fight goes nowhere, and both of them walk out. Meanwhile, Su-ah finds out who the thief is and decides to forgive them, with the stipulation that they return everything that they stole. Elsewhere, Do-jin starts to suspect Eun-soo of doing something immoral as Kyeong takes away Eun-soo’s access to their accounts according to what she had previously said, which leaves her shocked, as he investigates who could be going after them… and whether it’s a police officer working as a mole for the Phantom.

A little more investigation takes him straight to Gyeong-do, while Mi-yeon continues to be a nuisance in Eun-soo’s life. As a result, she hits her with an ashtray and runs off with her mobile, but realises that she’s not the blackmailer soon enough. Elsewhere, Kyeong, determined to find the informant, follows a possible lead and finds Tae-gu. Is he the informant for the Phantom gang and a mole in the police force?

This is possibly the best episode of this season by far, as it introduces an absolutely crazy twist that will leave most viewers’ jaws on the floor. While the hunt for the informant has been entertaining, I think the last twist is just so shocking that I didn’t register it for quite a bit! Other than that, Mi-yeon continues to make me irrationally angry, and I am glad she got wrecked. It will be interesting to see how the revelations in this episode affect the dynamic between Eun-soo and Kyeong. Either way, things are about to get very crazy, and I am here for it!
