The Woman in Cabin 10 Ending Explained
The film opens with journalist Laura being invited to the maiden voyage of a luxury yacht that starts with the weird notion of everyone taking their shoes off. After overcoming the awkwardness, Laura meets all the other passengers on the beautiful boat. Before long, the ship sets sail, and Laura eventually meets the very ill Anne and learns that she is considering handing over all her assets, including her charity, to someone better equipped to handle it.
That night, in the midst of sleep, Laura overhears sounds of someone struggling and then sees someone falling overboard along with a bloody handprint on her balcony. She immediately calls the crew, who start to search for the person in cabin 10. To her utter shock, the crew tells her that there was never a guest in that cabin, and the bloody handprint also goes mysteriously missing. With all guests accounted for, no one believes Laura, and she is left confused and utterly devastated.
The next morning, Laura continues to ask questions, but nothing comes of it until she spots the woman in one of Ben’s unrelated pictures and immediately rushes out to talk to Richard. However, the passengers sort of gaslight her and dismiss her, but Laura continues on, eventually finding hair in the sink of cabin 10, proving that someone was, in fact, in the room. Ben warns her to stop this madness on the boat before someone talks to someone and ruins both of their lives.
Who is the mystery woman?
Laura eventually comes face-to-face with the mystery woman, who turns out to be Anne. She is confused at first, but eventually realises that it’s a doppelganger only pretending to be Anne. Eventually, the woman, Carrie, opens up about Richard killing the real Anne and throwing her overboard after he overheard about the properties being donated and is heartbroken and scared for her own future. Laura tries to convince her to tell the police what happened, but Carrie refuses, hoping to live a comfortable life with her own daughter after signing the contracts.
Does Laura stay alive?
After locking Laura away, Carrie overhears Richard and Robert talking about killing Laura and is stunned and scared for her. Not willing to have more blood on her hands, she talks to Laura, who eventually convinces her to do the right thing or die at Richard’s hands after he gets what he wants. After the rest of the people get off, Laura, Ben and Robert get into a fight with one another, in which he is injected with something poisonous that ends up killing him. Desperate to get away, Laura jumps overboard and swims to safety.

What happens in the end?
Carrie does end up signing the contract while Laura, having recovered from her fall into ice-cold water, returns to expose Richard at the gala. She takes Nilssen’s help to tell the entire gala the truth, and Carrie, as Anne, agrees with her words. The guests are appalled, especially at how rude Richard is to all the women around her. Without an option, Richard discloses that it’s not Anne in front of them, and Laura gets the perfect opportunity to ask her where the real Anne is.
Cornered, Richard attacks Carrie and tries to get her on a speedboat, but Nilssen and Laura eventually stop her from hurting her further. The police eventually arrive to sort out the matter and Anne’s true wishes, and eventually realised after her foundation donates all of its assets to cancer research.
