The Nurse: Christina Was Definitely the Murderer and These 5 Moments Prove the Same

Every serial killer show or movie has that ‘AHA’ moment where all the previous clues combine to make a perfect story. Similarly, in The Nurse Netflix 2023 has similar moments that indicate since the beginning that Christina was up to something terrible. Also known as Sygeplejersken, this Danish limited series stars Fanny Louise Bernth, Josephine Park, Peter Zandersen, Dick Kaysø, Selma Kjær Kuscu, Amalie Lindegård, Sofia Cukic, Stephanie Nguyen, Mathilde Eusebius, Stine Schrøder Jensen and Sara Fanta Traore, alongside other cast members.

It is based on the book by Kristian Corfixen of the same name and is created by Kaspar Barfoed, who also joins the series as the director and head writer along with Dorte Warnøe Høgh. The show follows a newly incoming nurse named Pernille and her assigned partner Christina. The duo become fast friends before the former realises that the latter is hiding a dark secret.

Moments From The Nurse That Show Us Christina Was the Murderer

When She Talked About the Kick She Got From Saving Patients

In the show, she made it pretty clear that she was only excited when the shifts got hectic, which meant that she would need to swoop in and save patients. The word she used was ‘kick,’ which has a pretty strong connotation towards being about drugs and the subsequent harm this addictive feeling brings. Since the description of the show already talked about a killer, this one piece of information already showcased why this person may have wanted to put people in danger. Christina would put them in danger in order to save them.

When She Sounded the Alarm Too Early On Maggie

While at this point, Pernille was already convinced that Christina was up to something, this moment cemented the same fact for other people. How was she able to ascertain when an emergency would occur? It would only be possible if she knew how the other person had been affected in the first place. Furthermore, she truly dug her own grave when the patient was not flatlining, and she was doing the CPR procedure anyways.

Her Absolutely Glowing Face When A Patient Was Saved Because of Her

There is relief when a person is saved, and then there is pure blinding exuberance when this patient comes back from the brink of death. It was amazing when Pernille noticed that and got instantly concerned about her priorities as a nurse. Soon, it would be like she was only there to be there in the most crucial moments, or otherwise, she was not there at all. While this might not have been that big of a red flag, but her expression and her almost erotic relief at saving people definitely nudged itself into the story as a point of contention.

When She Would Randomly Leave the Common Room

There were moments when Christina would randomly leave the common room and generally right after a briefing where all the patients’ histories were laid out. It was also odd because things around the room would randomly go missing as well. Important vials of medicines and sometimes patient histories, which later Pernille found to be at Christina’s place. It is already weird that the case files were gone from the hospitals, but her taking them home was equivalent to collecting trophies of victory.

When She Would Lie About The Most Harmless Things

Pernille noticed that she was lying about what happened in the hospital rooms and pretended they happened to her, even though it was all actually happening to Pernille or just someone else. Once, she lied about being in a car accident, and that just made it clear that if she was so good at lying about something harmless like this, then she would have some serious cards up her sleeve. She wanted enough attention at all times, she needed to be in control of the narrative, and that meant doing anything to keep her reputation up, even some grave illegalities.

The Nurse is currently streaming on Netflix.
