The Lord of the Rings The Rings of Power Episode 3: Adar
Very many expositions happen in The Lord of the Rings The Rings of Power Episode 3 and, along with it, we are introduced to some new and much-awaited characters. The episode starts off exactly where the previous one left off, continuing the three parallel storylines of Galadriel, Arondir and Nori.
Galadriel and Hallbrand find themselves on a ship en route to Numenor which is led by Elendil. Yes, the father of the Isildur we have always heard about in the film trilogy. At Numenor, Galadriel and Hallbrand are less than welcome due to the elf history tied to the nation. However, Galadriel is determined to find her way back to middle-earth as Hallbrand tries to make a living in the rags.
But, on her search to escape the island kingdom, Galadriel comes across some truths that might just change her fate and the course of the story. Isildur is also a part of this episode and we see him in his young stage in life, that as we know is going to change soon.

Nori, on the other hand, is bent on finding out the meaning behind the stars her giant friend showed her in the last episode. At the same time, the Harefoots are preparing to relocate and with Nori’s father’s condition, it is going to be difficult for the family to travel. With much on her mind, things fall out of place when the giant is discovered by Nori’s tribe of men and women.
Arondir’s storyline in The Lord of the Rings The Rings of Power might just be the house of the most important expositions. We see him and his other elven brothers captured by the apparently long-extinct orcs, who chant the name of Adar as a God they worship. Captured in iron chains, slowly but, steadily Arondir learns what the orcs are up to and formulates a plan with his brethren to escape.
The world-building in The Lord of the Rings The Rings of Power continues to charm us. Introducing Numenor and the grandiosity associated with it is truly remarkable in this episode. With every passing episode, it seems like the visuals keep getting better.
Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova and Markella Kavenagh continue to be charismatic in their roles. Especially, Clark and Kavenagh’s dialogues and the conviction with which they deliver is mesmerising. Maxim Baldry’s Isildur and Lloyd Owen’s Elendil are going to be everyone’s new favourites in the show after this episode.
The Lord of the Rings The Rings of Power Episode 3: Final Thoughts
Overall, the third episode of The Lord of the Rings The Rings of Power has been really impressive. After the slowness of the second episode, this one seems to have really caught up with the demand and the pacing and things fell right in when required. The ending with Adar’s blur indeed has us wishing for the fourth episode’s arrival.
