The 11th episode of Spy x Family was everything I wanted it to be, but how did this episode fare anyways? Now, without further ado, let us jump right into the review and see how this episode went.
Spy x Family Episode 20 Overview
Even though shounen giants like Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War, My Hero Academia Season 6 and Chainsaw Man are all airing this season, Spy x Family stays strong amongst the top dogs with an unconventional storyline and interesting characters. The series is based on the hit manga by Endou Tatsuya, which combines action with family-centric comedy.
After the successful first season, it was only natural that we would get a second season for the Forger family. The anime is back with stunning animation, clearly influenced by the triumph of season 1 and a fast-paced storyline that will never cease to amaze the audience.
Furuhashi Kazuhiro directs the anime, and on the other hand, Wit Studio, CloverWorks is in charge of its animation. “SOUVENIR” by BUMP OF CHICKEN is the opening theme, whereas “Shikisai (色彩)” by yama is the ending theme.

Spy x Family Episode 20 Review and Recap: Dominating the Court
Today’s episode started off with the intense battle between the Campbell siblings and the Phony couples, who are none but Fiona and Loid in disguise. The Campbell siblings, not wanting to lose the tennis battle, try all sorts of underhanded methods to win the match.
They made dents on the floor, manipulated the height of the net, used gas, used air to change the ball’s trajectory, etc., but nothing worked. Fiona and Loid went past every difficulty and played marvellously anyways. Lastly, they had to resort to someone shooting a rubber bullet towards Fiona, but at that moment, Loid jumps in front and saves her from that attack.
But do not worry; even shootings could not do anything to stop the momentum of the play. The Phony couple took a marvellous victory, and the Campbell siblings had to accept defeat.
According to the plan, Fiona then goes to ask for the special painting they need for the mission, but before she can do that, the State Security Service officers demand it for themselves. Loid had to take on the disguise of the Butler to steal the painting and be done with the mission.

The first half was indeed very entertaining and gave us an example of how strong and cool both Loid and Fiona are as spies. They really are the best in their fields, and perhaps that is why Fiona thought she could challenge Yor Forger to a match of tennis and live to tell the tale.
When Fiona was dropping Loid off at his house, they encountered Yor and Anya playing tennis at a nearby park. Still thinking that she is better for the role of Loid’s wife, Fiona goes to Yor and tells her to play with her.
What happens next is definitely one of the best displays of power in this anime because Yor pretty much destroys Fiona with her first swing. The poor girl literally goes home crying and swearing to take revenge later.
Verdict
As usual, Spy X Family is doing great in portraying its characters in such a way that you just cannot but love them. I am biased towards Yor, so I was especially delighted when she crushed Fiona’s confidence and won against her. The animation as well is going off the charts, and this anime is obviously doing more than enough justice to its manga. Watch Spy X Family on Netflix.
