My Happy Marriage Season 2 Episode 2 Recap

Miyo’s time at her in-laws’ home is far from peaceful, and the cause is clear. Her mother-in-law, Fuyu, harbours a deep resentment toward her and devises an elaborate scheme to drive her out permanently. Summoning Miyo, Fuyu bombards her with harsh criticisms, declaring she is unworthy of her son. Fuyu cruelly suggests that Miyo is better suited for servitude and should begin acting accordingly. Determined to earn Fuyu’s approval, Miyo complies, dons servant attire, and takes on household chores.

Surprisingly, the Kudou household servants are astonished by Miyo’s ability to perform tasks with such precision, which is an unexpected skill for someone of noble lineage. Meanwhile, Fuyu’s disdain deepens as her attempts to overwhelm Miyo with arduous chores fail. The tension escalates when, in a fit of rage, Fuyu attempts to strike Miyo.

The episode also delves into a looming threat in the Kudou household’s vicinity. Kiyoka uncovers evidence of a cult orchestrating the disturbances in the area. This group opposes the Crown Prince, and Kiyoka finds himself clashing with one of its members. Feeling guilty for exposing Miyo to danger by bringing her to his home, he resolves to investigate the matter thoroughly.

The problem Miyo is facing is pretty intense, as this new faction that is harming normal people is going to become a bigger issue for her later. Miyo, being one of the kindest individuals in this anime, tries her best to save the village boy with her powers. But this time, she does that under the guidance of Arata, who is there to support her if anything goes wrong. This is because Miyo is still new to her dream sight ability, and it is very difficult for her to control it at will.

Somewhere else, we see Kiyoka coming face to face against the new evil faction called Gifted Communion. This group’s main focus is to turn ordinary people into demons by giving them abilities that only a few are born with. And behind this group is a mastermind whose name and origin reveal his deep connection with the Usuba family. He is the one to blame for all the recent problems arising with grotesques.

But this is not the only thing that we see here, as there were significant developments in the relationship between Miyo and her in-laws. Fuyu finally recognizes Miyo’s power and her natural kindness. She might not claim to like Miyo outright, but it becomes apparent that she recognizes her as a potential life partner candidate for her son.

Today’s episode was mysterious and intriguing as it addressed the core conflict of this season, which is the existence of Gifted Communion. Not only that, but we also get a very shocking revelation towards the end that definitely comes out of nowhere.

Verdict

I like today’s episode a lot as it started strong and ended even stronger. The cliffhanger was unexpected, and it definitely made the whole premise a lot more interesting. I will definitely suggest you watch this episode as soon as possible.
