Moon River Episode 6 Recap
Moon River Episode 6 begins with chaos erupting across the palace. Kim Woo-hee boldly bursts into the Crown Prince’s chamber and finds Lee Kang and the eunuch Park Dal-i huddled beneath the same blanket. The sight sparks scandal, which spreads like wildfire among courtiers already hungry for weakness.
Left State Councilor Kim Han-cheol and King Lee Hee immediately order the eunuch to be captured in order to halt the mounting rumours. With Park Dal-i still disguised as a eunuch and Lee Kang’s spirit trapped in her body, discovery would mean certain death. To protect them both, the decision is made for her to leave the palace for a while.

Forced to flee, Lee Kang, living in Park Dal-i’s body, walks tirelessly through the night. As he retraces the footsteps of her past, he feels her old loneliness with painful clarity and imagines the terrors she endured as a fugitive slave. The harsh journey makes him more determined than ever to honour her dream of living an ordinary and peaceful life with a real family.
Inside the palace, Park Dal-i, who now carries Lee Kang’s body, continues to experience his recurring night terrors. Feeling the heavy burden of his grief and anger, she realises that her presence could complicate his plans for revenge and jeopardise his future. Out of guilt and fear of hindering him further, she even asks him to punish her publicly, believing that a formal reprimand might ease the political pressure around them.
Lee Kang refuses to abandon her. Instead, he turns to the Grand Queen Dowager, armed with a weakness that the king himself entrusted to him. Adopting the appearance of the late Crown Princess, he pleads for the protection of Park Dal-i’s body, insisting that the Crown Prince holds deep affection for her. The Grand Queen Dowager accepts his proposal and begins shielding them from Kim Han-cheol’s relentless manoeuvring.

With danger temporarily pushed aside, Lee Kang and Park Dal-i thank the Grand Queen Dowager, only for her to insist that Park Dal-i be made a concubine. She also presses on Lee Kang’s emotional wounds, challenging him about whether he truly intends to let Park Dal-i die at the hands of political enemies. Seeing his spirit falter, Park Dal-i lifts his mood with a moment of playful bubble blowing, declaring she will stand by his side in his quest for justice. Her warmth brings a rare smile to his face.
Moved by her loyalty, Lee Kang fulfils one of her small wishes. He dresses her in elegant clothing and helps her into a pair of flower shoes so she can experience the simple joy of walking comfortably for once. He gently tells her to recognise her own beauty and worth, creating a tender moment between them.

Their fragile happiness soon shatters when Lee Kang, still in Park Dal-i’s body, is kidnapped by the Chief Court Lady’s allies. They attempt to force infertility medicine upon him and even burn the flower shoes. Furious, Lee Kang fights back, retrieves the ruined shoes and returns to the palace, clinging to Park Dal-i’s dream despite everything.
Moon River Episode 6 Review
The soul-swapped Lee Kang and Park Dal-i continue navigating treacherous court dynamics, yet the highlight lies in how they slowly unravel each other’s hidden wounds. Their growing empathy feels organic and tender, especially as Lee Kang walks the painful path Dal-i once travelled and Dal-i confronts the darkness that haunts him. The scandal sparked by Kim Woo-hee feels delightfully messy, pushing the plot forward with the perfect mix of tension and humour.

The episode’s emotional payoff is delivered in the quieter, softer moments: the bubble play, the flower shoes, and Lee Kang’s heartfelt attempt to give Dal-i the simple joys she never had. These scenes carry a romantic charm that lingers long after the episode ends.
