Korean Dramas Releasing in August 2024: The new month is here and we are soon to welcome a new set of Kdramas that are here to keep the entertainment evergreen! This month brings in everything from romance, thriller, and also the return of some of our favourite shows. We also have some variety shows that are here to take things to another level.

Once again, we say goodbye to some of our favourites this month, including My Sweet Mobster, Miss Night and Day and more. But covering up for them are Perfect Family, Love Next Door and also the return of our favourite with Pachinko Season 2. With this, we bring to you a complete list of the upcoming entertainment to choose from!

August 1

My Sweet Mobster Episode 16

The show’s finale brings the final battle between Ji-hwan and his father! Will he be able to save the life he has right now or will he succumb to his father’s pressure? Directed by Kim Woo-hyun and Kim Young-hwan, the drama stars Uhm Tae-goo, Han Sun-hwa, Kwon Yool, Kim Hyun-jin, Park Jae-chan, and Hwang Hyun-jeong alongside other cast members. August 3

Miss Night and Day Episode Episode 15

The finale week reveals the mystery behind Mi-jin’s condition and the solution to fix her life, all while facing the questions and concerns from those she loves. Directed by Lee Hyung-min, the drama stars Lee Jung-eun, Choi Jin-hyuk, Yoon Byung-hee, Jung Young-joo, and Baek So-hoo alongside other cast members. Watch the drama on JTBC and Netflix.

Bad Memory Eraser

This rom-com tells the story of a tennis player who loses his self-esteem after an injury which leads him to experience false pains. Desperate to move on with his life, he uses a memory eraser which helps him be reborn as a whole different person and there begins the romance between him and his psychiatrist who helped him erase his memory.

Directed by Kim Na-young and Yoon Ji-hoon, the drama stars Kim Jae-joong, Jin Se-yeon, Lee Jong-won, Yang Hye-ji, Lee Ruby, and Jang Eui-soo, alongside other cast members. The drama is set to release on Viki and TVING.

August 7

The Zone Survival Mission Season 3

Yoo Jae-suk and Kwon Yu-ri are back with an all-new season of The Zone Survival Mission and this time with new members in their team- Kim Dong-hyun and DEX. As they return to enter new realities and bring about more interesting scenarios, an entertaining and educative adventure awaits us all.

“MC of the Nation” Yoo Jae-suk and Girls’ Generation Kwon Yu-ri are joined by “Stun Gun” Kim Dong-hyun and Single’s Inferno star DEX and are ready with an eight-episode-long adventure for us all. The show is set to release on Disney+.

August 8

Are You Sure?!

The adventure we have all been waiting for is finally here! BTS’ Jimin and Jungkook are ready to take us on their adventure to three global destinations- New York, Jeju Island and Sapporo, where they show their undeniable chemistry and friendship. As they travel through these destinations and show the best of the place, we are set for an unforgettable adventure.

Prior to their enlistment into the South Korean military, the Busan Boys BTS’ Jimin and BTS’ Jungkook came together for an eight-episode-long adventure that is to be released on Disney+.

August 10

Romance in the House

This drama brings some family drama along with romance and more! The plot revolves around a man whose multiple failed business ventures bring disaster to his family and push them into cutting him off. Years later, he returns as a wealthy man and tries to reunite with his family. However, standing before him is his daughter who is against taking him back into the family.

Directed by Kim Da-ye, the drama stars Ji Jin-hee, Kim Jee-soo, Son Na-eun, Choi Min-ho, Yoon San-ha, and Jung Woong-in, alongside other cast members. The drama is set to release on Netflix.

Your Honor

Bringing the remake of the American TV series of the same name, this legal crime thriller tells the story of the clash between a righteous judge and the wealthy and their children. What will be the result of this clash? Will the truth be able to win over this war or will the power of wealth hide everything?

Directed by Pyo Min-soo, the drama stars Son Hyun-joo, Kim Myung-min, Kim Do-hoon, Jung Eun-chae, Yoon Chan-young, and Heo Nam-joon, alongside other cast members. The drama is set to release on Viki.

August 14

Perfect Family

The Kdrama adaptation of the Webtoon of the same name is here and ready to keep us on our toes with its plot and mysteries. It tells the story of a young girl whose life takes a turn as she witnesses the fall of the perfect family she thought she had, after the death of her friend. What will this turn of events lead to?

Directed by Yukisada Isao, the drama stars Park Ju-hyun, Yoon Se-ah, Kim Byung-chul, Lee Shi-woo, Yoon Sang-hyun, and Choi Ye-bin, alongside other cast members. The drama is set to broadcast on KBS2.

The Tyrant

The prequel to The Witch Part 1 is here, and we are ready to go on this exciting sci-fi thriller journey again. The plot revolves around the last sample of the Tyrant program that goes missing. A former agent is then given the task to get rid of the people associated with the project while another agent of a foreign intelligence agency is given the task to get rid of the last sample.

Directed by Park Hoon-jung, the drama stars Jo Yoon-soo, Cha Seung-won, Kim Seon-ho, and Kim Kang-woo, alongside other cast members The drama is set to release on Disney+.

August 16

Black Out

Adapted from the novel Snow White Must Die, this drama tells the thrilling story of a young man who returns to his hometown to solve the mystery behind the murder he was arrested for 11 years ago. The psychological thriller takes us through twists and turns as it reveals the dark side of human nature.

Directed by Byun Young-joo and Lee Kyoo-man, the drama stars Byun Yo-han, Go Jun, Go Bo-gyeol, Kim Bo-ra, Kwon Hae-hyo, and Lee Ga-sub, alongside other cast members. The drama is set to broadcast on MBC.

Love Next Door

Here is a childhood friends-to-lovers trope where the plot revolves around two childhood friends who meet years later. One is a successful architect running his own company while the other quit her job at a large company due to unknown reasons. How will this meeting change their lives when one sees the other as the one whose memory he wants to erase?

Directed by Yoo Je-won, the drama stars Jung Hae-in, Jung So-min, Kim Ji-eun, Yun Ji-on, Park Ji-young, and Jo Han-chul, alongside other cast members. The tvN drama is set to release on TVING.

DNA Lover

Next is a rom-com that tells the story of a genetic researcher who decides to find a genetically compatible relationship after breaking up with her boyfriend. Now stuck with two compatible men, she needs to decide who will be her perfect match while finding a way to get out of the mess this makes.

Directed by Sung Chi-wook, the drama stars Jung In-sun, Choi Si-won, Lee Tae-hwan, Jung Eugene, Joo Hee-jae, and Seo Ji-young, alongside other cast members. The drama is set to release on TVING.

August 23

Pachinko Season 2

Returning with an all-new sequel, Pachinko is back to win hearts again as we are taken to the story after the events of the first season. Sun-ja’s struggles continue as she makes even harsher choices to ensure her family’s safety. Meanwhile, Solomon has to start anew in 1989 Tokyo.

Directed by Kogonada and Justin Chon, the drama stars Youn Yuh-jung, Lee Min-ho, Kim Min-ha, Jin Ha, Jung Eun-chae, and Anna Sawai, alongside other cast members.

August 24

Cinderella at 2 AM

This Kdrama adaptation of the Webtoon of the same name tells the story of a confident woman whose life takes a turn when she finds out that her boyfriend is the son of the family whose company she is working at. Having been someone who doesn’t believe in fairytales, she decides to break up with him after his mother offers her money for the same. But will this realistic woman be able to escape from her unexpected fairytale?

Directed by Seo Min-jung, the drama stars Shin Hyun-been, Moon Sang-bin, Yoon Park, Park So-jin, Hong Bi-ra, and Kim Tae-jung, alongside other cast members. The drama is set to be released on COUPANG TV.

August 26

No Gain No Love

Finally, here’s another rom-com that tells the story of a young woman who is on the verge of losing a promotion. To avoid this loss, she approaches a young man to be her fake fiance and gets involved in a fake wedding. Surprisingly, he says yes and there begins the interesting tale of the two.

Directed by Kim Jung-shik, the drama stars Shin Min-ah, Kim Young-dae, Lee Sang-yi Han Ji-hyun, Jeon Hye-won, and Lee Yoo-jin, alongside other cast members. The drama is set to broadcast on tvN.
