House of the Dragon Season 1: Which Dragon Dies? Who Did it Belong to?

House of the Dragon finale concluded with the first strike of blood from the green High Towers and their illegal succession to the iron throne. Even though Aegon is the new king of the seven kingdoms, Rhaenyra has pushed her claim stronger than before and proclaimed herself as the new Queen. The true Targaryen might have evaded the war, but the recent tragic events will definitely take her to new extremes.

The Targaryens are already a dragon down in comparison to their enemies and have also suffered a tremendous personal loss. Moreover, it will be interesting to see how the ancient house fights back in season 2.

How does  Lucerys Dies House of the Dragon?

House of the Dragon Episode 10 started on the strongest of note, with a subtle indication of gruesome future events. Although there were moments of tension all along the show, it was successful in draping all the secrets of the epic finale. The friendship between Rhaenyra and Alicent weakened over time and was eventually replaced by the race for succession.

However, with the death of Rhaenyra’s son Lucerys, the expectation for any kind of negotiation is off the charts. At first, the Queen made all efforts to not initiate the bloodthirsty war between the kingdoms, but with Aemond’s horrific mistake, there’s simply no going back.

During the last minutes of the culminating episode, Aemond attempts to finally seek his revenge on Lucerys, by making him blind in one eye. But with the presence of the Baratheon Knights, he fails to do so and ultimately chases him afterwards. The young Targaryen fails to match up with Vaghar amidst the storm and ultimately ends up getting torn by the gigantic dragon.

The graphic manner in which the young Lucerys and his dragon Arrax witness their ultimate end is horrifying. Morever, it is also a sign of the magnitude of revenge, that Rhaenyra will seek from the High Towers. The first blood has been drawn from the enemies, and it doesn’t matter if it was intentional or compulsive.

The episode ends with Daemon delivering the news of Lucerys demise to the Queen, who appears to be shell-shocked by the aftermath of the events. Furthermore, one can easily spot the emotions of regret and anger on the face of the new Queen, and her upcoming wrath for the enemies.
