HBO’s The Princess Reactions: Everyone’s Obsessed With the New Princess Diana Documentary

The Princess on HBO Max is the latest Princess Diana documentary that you ought to check out. The harrowing account of Diana’s entire royal life from the wedding that was supposed to be a fairytale come real to her tragic death in Paris, the HBO Original documentary goes out of the way to keep it all real by using only archival video footage filmed over the years and interviews of Diana to present us a documentary from the lens of the media and paparazzi.

The Princess is directed by the Academy Award nominee Ed Perkins, who is best known for Black Sheep and Tell Me Who I Am comprises majorly of archival footage. It is produced by Lightbox in association with SKY, Academy Award-winner Simon Chinn, who is known for the much-acclaimed Man on Wire and Searching for Sugar Man along with Emmy-winner Jonathan Chinn of LA92 and HBO’s Tina. Jinx Godfrey and Daniel Lapira serve as the editors for the project.

The 1-hour 49 minutes documentary film first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival 2022. However, following the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana’s tragic death, the film was released on HBO Max on August 13, 2022. Ever since the release of the documentary people have been kicking in their views about this yet another attempt to make us remember Diana and, for all the right reasons the documentary works and stands out as truly one of the finest pieces made on the People’s Princess.
