Gabriel Iglesias Stadium Fluffy is the latest standup special by the comedian on Netflix, which was released on 18th October 2022. The actor and comedian, who is better known to some as Fluffy, put on a show for a sold-out crowd at Dodger Stadium during the Netflix Is a Joke comedy festival.
It is a big deal because Iglesias was the first comedian ever to perform at the stadium, which is actually the largest venue in all of Major League Baseball. The special has a runtime of about 1 hour and 55 minutes long.
The special was directed by Manny Rodriguez, who has worked with Iglesias for almost a decade, directing specials including One Show Fits All and I’m Sorry For What I Said When I Was Hungry.
-Gabriel Iglesias Stadium Fluffy Review Does Not Contain Spoilers-
In this almost 2-hour long comedy show, Gabriel hilariously shares details about being a Los Angeles native, a recent attempt at extortion towards him, and where he holds the record for receiving the highest fine on stage. The show starts with a man sitting down in a director’s chair and announcing his name – Martin Moreno.

For the first time, the camera is turned on Iglesias’s long-mythologized BFF Martin Moreno. Matinnnn (as Fluffy calls him) has been popping up as a character in Iglesias’ specials since 2007’s Hot and Fluffy. Throughout the years, very apt pop cultural comparisons Iglesias makes regarding his pal’s appearance and now we know exactly how he looks.
Morena shares about their humble starts and says, “It has been an incredible journey”. Looking back on two decades of playing in garages, clubs and living rooms with Iglesias. Now, his friend and collaborator is selling out stadiums and reaching the milestones that they never thought they would.

Naturally, Iglesias is nearly moved to tears once he appears on stage driving his minivan and looks out into the sea of faces cheering for him. For a lifelong Southern Californian, the performance counts as the ultimate hometown show. Iglesias tells his fans that he didn’t do it alone and it’s the fans with whom, they made it here together.
And what could be better than the song California Love by Tupac, to start the show? Before we get into the details of the show, I just want to say that personally, I am over the jokes about the pandemic and everything else that comes with it. We have been through it for more than a year now and don’t need to relive the same jokes that have been widely circulated on the internet.
Fortunately, Fluffy’s set is not the same generic stuff taken off the pop meme culture, it comes from his own experiences and immerses you in his stories. Most of his set revolves around how he coped up and lost weight in that period and the struggle to have a show, while trying to be safe but still getting the vid, as Kevin Hart says it.

From getting a scam money extortion mail to being embroiled in Twitter cancel culture storm and offending a world-champion fighter with his jokes, Gabriel Iglesias sails through an hour easily and even when the organisers ask him to wrap it up, the stories keep coming and make a full circle back to the scam mail, adding another fun hour.
Summing Up: Gabriel Iglesias Stadium Fluffy
The standup special from the seasoned comedian is like catching up with a fun friend, who has unlimited stories to share and keeps you entertained, all the time. I really liked the second half of the show, where he shared his rather personal stories about his son and a wild show, which left him walking down completely naked from the stage.
