Chill Kill MV: Red Velvet Makes Highly Anticipated Comeback With a Blazing Love Story That Haunts

No other K-pop group comes close to creating as mysteriously eerie concepts as Red Velvet, and the SM Entertainment quintet’s latest Chill Kill MV, releasing on November 13, 2023, again stands as a testament to their uncanny occult-ish discography, otherwise shrouded under an alluring discography. Stepping back to take over the K-pop scene, the South Korean girl group has returned with its highly anticipated third full album of the same name, nearly a year after dropping their last musical output through their special EP, The ReVe Festival 2022 – Birthday.

Though Red Velvet members’ – Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy and Yeri – brand-new focus track is a pop dance number, its dreamy trance and rhythms slip into evocative lyrics that illustrate an emotionally heavy picture of longing for one’s beloved while other tragedies consume the world and overturn its status quo. The song’s highlight comes across in the line “Waiting for you here for a happy ending”, further accentuating the essence of the improbable love story. The elegantly crafted track exudes vibes of royalty, and fits right in with Red Velvet’s long magical music graph that equally unsettles you with its other dangerous hidden meanings and allusions.
