Brahmastra Part One Shiva: All the Special Appearances That Stole the Show

Brahmastra Part One Shiva has taken over the theatres after much anticipation and getting fairly good reviews from the audience and critics alike. Written and directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film follows its lead Shiva, on his journey of discovering his unique powers and the truth of this universe, all while accompanied by his one true love Isha.

It has a runtime of about 2 hours and 40 minutes in total and stars Amitabh Bachchan as Guru, the leader of the Brahmansh, Ranbir Kapoor as Shiva, Alia Bhatt as Isha, Mouni Roy as Junoon, Saurav Gurjar, Gurfateh Pirzada and some surprising cameos.

All the Special Appearances in Brahmastra Part One Shiva

Shah Rukh Khan as Mohan Bhargava

Shah Rukh Khan graces our screens as soon as the film opens its curtains. He plays the role of a renowned scientist named Mohan Bhargava. He has a cool fighting sequence with the dark evils, namely Junoon (played by Mouni Roy), Raftaar and Zor. During the fight, we get to know that also owns an Astra that store the powers of different animals like the Vanarāstra, which can give the power of a divine monkey to the person who controls it.

His Astra powers come from the magical anklet and by wearing it, he unleashes the power of Vanarāstra. He can jump anywhere, hang from high places and have more speed, just like a monkey. His cameo was highly celebrated and made people clap and laugh at his funny antics and superb acting.

Nagarjuna Akkineni as Anish Shetty

Nagarjuna Akkineni plays the role of an artist named Anish Shetty. He also owns an Astra that derives its power from the animal kingdom. It is called the Nandiāstra, which contains the power and strength of a thousand bulls, within itself. His Astra is very powerful in front of the enemies and even has the power to heel itself instantly.

In the film, Nagarjuna doesn’t really add anything to the story but his character is someone important, as he holds one part of the broken Brahmastra, which Junoon is looking for. While Shah Rukh Khan didn’t interact with the main leads of the film, Nagarjuna shares most of his screen time with Shiva and Isha.

Dimple Kapadia as Brahmansh Member

Dimple Kapadia had a very brief role in the film and her power Astra is not even revealed. However, all we know is that she is a member of Brahmansh and her Astra lies in a carved walking stick. She is seen operating a helicopter to and from the ashram, and it could be something related to wind.

She might have a bigger role to play in the next parts, but in this film, she wasn’t any significant character. More like a supporting character who protects and helps Isha when she is in danger.

Other Cameos

The biggest mystery in the film is about the characters Amrita and Dev. They are said to be Shiva’s parents, where Amrita owns the power of (Jal) water Astra and Dev is able to own many Astras but the fire Astra is the one that dominates. While we were only shown the silhouette and wide blurry shots of the two.

Many viewers caught that the actress which was shown as Amrita, who was caring for the Baby Shiva appeared to look like Deepika Padukone. A special appearance by the actress has been rumoured for a while and might be true, after watching the film. However, we only got to see the back side of Dev, which many claimed to be SRK.

But now that we know his actual character, the rumours point to Ranveer Singh, which might be too far-fetched at this moment. Dev is also known as Brahmdev who tried to conquer the Brahmastra and will be one of the biggest roles in the next film, therefore, the anticipation about who will play the character is really high.

Brahmastra Part One Shiva is currently available in theatres in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
