Hello there, welcome to Alpha Males ending explained where you’ll enjoy some spoilers and my shades on it. The Spanish comedy of 2022, literally the last series of 2022, took the internet by storm. While the hype was quenched, the plot hurt my mind because the title wasn’t justified. Alpha Males, aka Machos Alfa, surround the lives of four sexist, toxic men who struggle to fit in the 21st century, where their old-fashioned customs are pressed down and their chauvinism is overlooked.
Truth be told, yes, patriarchy stinks and the series well portrayed some aspects; however, the ending seemed undeniably dumb and questionable. To start off with, among the four friends, Raul, Pedro, Luis, and Santi, I kind of think Santi and Luis were actually beta men and not at all alphas. So, of course, the ending had some complications and disappointments yet felt too real to be good. Without much ado, let’s look at what happened so you can judge it.
Alpha Males Ending Explained
What Happened to Pedro?
Ah, Pedro—the man who did get on my nerves. Pedro (Fernando Gil) is an excellent portrayal of a toxic alpha male who believes that working for or with women is a disgrace. After getting fired from his work and being replaced with a woman executive, Pedro loses his mind. As he has just bought a huge house, he becomes worried about the money.
Thankfully, his girlfriend helps him out by becoming a content creator and social media influencer and gaining some financial stability. Meanwhile, Pedro does get offered a job, but he declines it just because he had to work for a woman-run team. Come on! Anyway, Pedro later navigates his life along his girlfriend’s path and starts posting videos that promote toxic masculinity. Soon Pedro becomes viral, which affects his girlfriend’s fame. In the end, she leaves Pedro. I think he deserved it. How about you?

Luis and His Wife
I believe Luis (Fele Martínez) is a beta man. Particularly he doesn’t express any domination but tries his best to keep his marriage strong. Luis is a local police officer who usually manages the traffic. Luis has two kids, and every night after work, he puts them to bed and tries to sleep. However, Luis’ wife expects them to have more sex, which puts huge pressure on Luis. The couple then goes to therapy and tries again with their sexual life, but it fails miserably due to their bickering.
As the days pass, Luis’ wife falls in love with her gym trainer and cheats on him. When Luis finds out about it, they both separate and decide to stay close for the sake of their children. But, in the end, Luis and his wife come to an open relationship term as they both understand they just can’t end their marriage easily. Uhm, does this conclusion for Luis and his wife feel sensible?
Raul, a Whole Mess
Raul (Raúl Tejón) is definitely toxic. Raul and his lawyer girlfriend Luz were having the time of their lives, but Raul wasn’t loyal because he was sleeping with his business partner’s wife, Carmen. One fine day, after having sex with Carmen, Raul shares that he isn’t going to propose marriage to Luz. When he almost proposes to Luz, she drops a bomb, saying that she wants to be in an open relationship to keep their bond spicy. Raul, who was having fun with other women, feels it’s icky to share his girlfriend with other men and declines Luz’s idea. Really?
Raul truly should have been loyal from the beginning, or else at least told her about the betrayal. As expected, he covers it up and proceeds. Later, when Carmen’s husband dumps her, she sleeps with Raul and video calls her husband. Raul’s business partner and Luz come to know about the betrayal, leaving Raul to lose his restaurant and end up staying with Pedro. The two alpha men share a hug.

Santi, the Sweet Guy
Santi (Gorka Otxoa) is honestly a submissive man who focuses on his 16-year-old daughter’s life. After their divorce, Santi’s daughter decides to live with him rather than with her grumpy mother. Santi’s daughter also sets her dad up with dates, as she believes if he has sex with other women, he will get over his ex-wife. Santi gives his best shot at multiple women, but none make him forget his wife. Meanwhile, Santi’s daughter also comes out as queer, to which he positively responds.
Though Santi is seen as a good guy, he makes tonnes of mistakes as well. He messes up his dates and hurts some women’s feelings because he is scared of serious relationships. One day, he receives a phone call from his ex-wife requesting help. As expected, they both have a steamy time and re-unite, leaving their daughter to despise the decision. While the ending seems legit and true to reality, Santi deserves a better ending.
Will There Be a Alpha Males Season 2?
As of now, there isn’t any official confirmation regarding Alpha Males season 2. While the series received mixed reviews, the hype has died, so the chances of renewal seem less likely. However, Pedro and Raul’s storyline seemed to end abruptly, so there are also chances of another season. If the show gets renewed, we can expect it to release in 2023 or 2024.
