The Resurrected Ending Explained
The episode opens with Wang Hui-chun and Zhao Ching, two grieving mothers who arrive at a shaman’s doorstep in hopes of finding a way to resurrect their daughters. While one of their daughters was kidnapped, the other is in a coma. However, the shaman is unable to help either of them. We learn that they were scammed by a fraud ringleader called Chang Shih-kai, who is a human trafficker who used young, impressionable girls in horrific situations.
In the present, Jin Jin continues to be in a vegetative state and as tensions rise between her parents on whether or not they should stop treatment, the two mothers are agast seeing that the perpetrator’s family refuses to give the victims compensation, yet are shopping at high-end establishments on the eve of her son’s death. The next day, Shih-kai is executed, leaving the victims’ families heartbroken and unsatisfied, especially because their loved ones were mercilessly tortured.
Determined to get revenge, the women go to the shaman to resurrect Shih-kai and torture him for 7 days to give him a taste of his own medicine. To do so, they have to steal the body, which they have the police officer accomplish. After resurrecting him, they bring him back to Hui-chun’s store, which offers good soundproofing thanks to a pub next door and torture him endlessly. However, with only 7 days in their hands, they realise that all of this torture and heartbreak wouldn’t make a difference after he invariably ceased to exist after those days.
Thus, they decide to give Shih-kai false hope of letting him go in exchange for a lump sum of money to reset their lives, since he has no idea that he is dead and his time is very limited. In the meantime, the women try to scam Christina as well by putting Eason as the honeytrap to lure her in.
What was the scam that Shih-kai was running?
Shih-kai was running a scam wherein he kidnapped young women and used them to defraud people of their money. They were kept in deplorable conditions in an abandoned hotel miles away from anyone and anything, and were fed only if they were able to scam money out of others. Once they fulfilled their quota, it was assumed that the women were let go, but as it turns out, they were killed.
What is Chang Chia-feng’s role in this?
From the start, Chia-feng and Christina have been living a carefree life, both before and after Shih-kai’s death. They spend endlessly on luxury items while the mothers suffer financially and emotionally. It’s made clear from the beginning that she was well aware of her son’s misdeeds and reaped the benefits of his scam business as well.
In a shocking twist, though, Chia-feng turns out to be the real ringleader of this sordid tale, and the siblings were never her children. She simply used Shih-kai to do the dirty deeds in exchange for keeping Christina away from all of this.
Do the mothers get their revenge?
The mothers play a long con and scam not only Shih-kai but also Chia-feng and Christina. They use Eason to make Christina spend a ton of money on a fake bid to get money out of her, while they blackmail Chia-feng to hand them over 40 million in exchange for keeping their mouths shut about their disturbing secrets. Chia-feng hands over 1 million, while Eason does a whole song and dance of paying for the bangles to win Christina’s trust and get the crypto wallet information.
However, devastating news wrecks the mothers’ resolve – they both get to know from different sources that the person who was giving information to Shih-kai wasn’t An Chi, but Jin Jin; she was the one involved with Shih-kai and lured the other two girls to their doom. Shih-kai further tells Ching that he and Jin Jin were romantically involved to the point that they were working together, and she used her YouTube videos to lure everyone to the hotel.
In a heartbreaking twist, the two mothers go against one another as Ching kidnaps Jin Jin, and Hui-chun & Eason log into Jin Jin’s secret account and validate everything that Shih-kai had told them, after letting Shih-kai get away to kill Ching.
What happens in the end?
In episode 8, Jin Jin is pulled off life support while An Chi, who meets up with Shih-kai, calls Ching to have a “talk” with her. It turns out that she actually was his girlfriend. Meanwhile, Pong and Eason have their own plans going on and try to work together and stop the women from killing each other.
Chia-feng, meanwhile, sends men to get the crypto wallet from Eason, and he is injured trying to keep it safe. Meanwhile, An Chi betrays Shih-kai in a last-minute change of heart and runs away with Ching, finally telling her that it was Jin Jin who saved all of them. With no other options, Shih-kai meets Hui-chun while Ching goes to the press to tell everyone about Chia-feng’s schemes.

Everyone gathers for Kuo Chih-chieh, joining hands with the Tai Chi Association, and Ching blackmails the politician to give away all of their dirty secrets so that his position is kept safe. However, that goes to waste after everyone at the gathering falls sick, thanks to Hui-chun, and Shih-kai arrives to exact revenge on Chia-feng.
Afterwards, the two mothers have it out with Shih-kai, and after Hui-chun shoots Ching, he finally reveals that none of the girls snitched on each other. It was someone completely unrelated who told on them. In the end, the mothers get their revenge, and Shih-kai ceases to exist after his 7 days are over.
As the women walk out, Pong arrives and takes the crypto wallet from them, and as it turns out, in a final, devastating twist, Jin Jin had actually colluded with Yang to get rid of Shih-kai and Chia-feng and get the entire operation under her!
