The first season of Single’s Inferno turned out to be one of Netflix’s most-watched shows. After a successful second season, thus, we are back again with the South Korean dating show Single’s Inferno!

In the previous seasons, 10 participants were left vying to get attention from each other on a remote island in hopes of going to Paradise. Unfortunately, although most did not end up with the person they selected on the show, it was still an entertaining and fun ride without any overt sexualisation that will make you press skip.

In the third season of the show, AKA 솔로지옥 3, we are back on the deserted island (and a new location) with rapper Hanhae, Hong Jin-kyung, actor Lee Da-hee and Super Junior’s Kyuhyun as MCs. Joining them is Dex, or breakout star Kim Jin-young, Season 2’s most popular wild card entry who had all the women swooning. The group of singles this time in Single’s Inferno 3 are Kim Gyu-ri, Choi Hye-seon, Choi Min-woo, Lee Jin-seok, An Min-young, and Lee Gwan-hee in the first group. The second group consists of Park Min-kyu, Son Won-ik, Yun Ha-bin, Yun Ha-jeong, and Yu Si-eun. The show was created by Kim Jae-won, Kim Jung-hyun and Kim Na-hyun.

– The Review Does Not Contain Spoilers –

Single’s Inferno changes up its game in its third iteration, so get ready for a very spicy season! Although the first two seasons had a bit of leeway for the people who were left out at Inferno, this season is quite unforgiving if you don’t secure a lover the moment you arrive at the island and eat some carrots. Interestingly, this season has a lot of people talking about their hot bods than the last two. Although there is nothing untoward (looking at you, Too Hot to Handle), it’s definitely more bold and forward this season and the flirty singles will make you raise your eyebrows. Korean dating shows are usually known to be slower and with less skin show, but this one has struck a good balance in that respect.

The series comes out with an intriguing twist this time around with newer faces and rule changes, although the personal information rule stays the same. With a professional basketball player and someone who looks like Blackpink’s Jennie in the mix, you know the show isn’t kidding around – the female and male contestants are extremely good-looking and equally talented, which makes for an arresting watch. The hidden rule that the contestants get to know about after it’s too late leaves everyone shocked, and it’s honestly a good twist. Plus, the new place for Paradise is also a welcome change, I mean, it is a luxurious resort at the end of the day! I am sure that it’s not a surprise Netflix really gave some thought behind the popular Korean reality show so as to increase the ‘sexy times’ and get even more significant viewership numbers. There are significant changes, but things fall into place quite quickly.

The MCs, like long-term viewers, are left shocked by the pace of the first three episodes as the participants go out on their dates, go swimming and get closer than you’d imagine. By the end of the first episode, there’s been a trip to Paradise and the sudden introduction of new participants, which takes everyone on the show by surprise. The MCs are the most relatable parts of the show as you meet several new people unexpectedly. They joke about stuff and point out things that audiences might be thinking about. Funnily enough, Jin-young fits right into the already-established group of MCs. It’s just a good time with them, as always.

The thing that I have always found to have worked for the series is that it balances the awkwardness, the hesitation and the level of genuine-ness as they meet new people, and the more flirty side of things. The contestants’ shenanigans and the changing love interest for everyone are entertaining, and the MCs’ discussions really guide the experience further. Kim Jin-young adds a fun perspective to the mix that we haven’t seen before. He really feels different here from ‘contestant Kim Jin-young’. It’s quite a fresh addition that works well for the show. Even in the third season, you still don’t feel bored or feel like you’re watching something repetitive at any point.

The banter and the flirting really distinguish the show from others, and the new concepts keep things fresh and moving at a breathtaking pace. However, the participants get some time to breathe in between, and their conversations feel relatable and rather sweet, although we were welcomed by some very risque close-ups of the new contestants. Sometimes, it even makes the hosts blush! It’s also interesting how straightforward some of the women are in this season, and it will take you by surprise. It makes for great conversation among the participants and ends up being very interesting, funny and quite effective.

Of all the reality dating shows on Netflix, this is one of the better ones. Single’s Inferno Season 3 continues its streak of relatable conversations and funny moments that will keep you entertained. The newer concepts offer fresh perspectives, and there’s some drama as well, so that’s always great. Plus, we love watching Jin-young as one of the MCs on the show. It’s funny how the others teased him and asked his input about whatever was happening on the show, considering he has first-hand experience!

The first three episodes of the new season are streaming on Netflix.
