Pact of Silence Review (Episodes 1-10)

This series will take us on an emotional rollercoaster, skilfully weaving a tale of pain, resilience, and, ultimately, redemption. We know that when the story involves revenge, it’s going to get dirty and nasty from time to time. At its core, it explores the profound impact of abandonment on the human psyche, as seen through the eyes of Brenda Ray, a compelling character brought to life with depth and authenticity by the talented lead actress.

Pact of Silence Review Still 1

The narrative is gripping from the very start, offering a poignant glimpse into Brenda’s life as a successful influencer with an enigmatic past. Her journey is one of both self-discovery and retribution as she endeavours to unearth the identities of the individuals who left her behind like a discarded memory. The characters of four potential mothers are masterfully brought to life, each with their unique strengths, vulnerabilities, and aspirations, creating a tapestry of characters that form the heart and soul of this compelling series.

What really made me love this show was that, while some revenge plots make us feel bad for the real perpetrators, at some point, as while taking revenge on the women, it was affecting their families, and especially their children, who might be Brenda’s own siblings and have nothing to do with the abandoned case. This series has done an impeccable job of not letting us feel bad about the victim’s revenge throughout whatever she does. And the performance of all the actors really stood out well, showing us various colours with her expressions.

The cinematography and the visuals are pleasing, capturing both the opulence of Brenda’s influencer lifestyle and the stark realities of her emotional turmoil. The juxtaposition of glamour and raw vulnerability serves as a visual metaphor for Brenda’s internal struggle. The use of lighting and framing adds depth to each scene, evoking a range of emotions that resonate long.

Each episode unfolds with intriguing plot twists, leaving me pondering a persistent question: Why didn’t Brenda just go for a simple DNA test? I mean, she’s got the means and connections, having access to all four women. Also, she keeps on repeating that she just wants to know who her mother is. Why not take the direct route? However, as all four did play a part in her abandonment, she decided to destroy all of them.

And let me tell you, the family drama has been intense. It’s not just about identity crises, but also tackling some serious issues like drug addiction. Even though Brenda clearly has some major beef with her mom, she still reaches out to help other family members. It really shows how complicated family ties can be, especially when there’s so much pain involved. Overall, the series has a decent amount of intrigue. It keeps you guessing about what’s coming next. The endings of each episode are real nail-biters, leaving you with a bunch of different ideas about where the story might go.

Pact of Silence Netflix Series Review Final Thoughts

The first 10 episodes are engaging and build good mystery and excitement but will still keep on guessing who can actually be Brenda’s mother. Anchored by a stellar performance from the lead actress and supported by a talented ensemble cast, the series will leave a lasting impression on the audience. Its poignant message lingers, reminding us of the enduring power of love, even in the face of betrayal and abandonment. This is a must-watch for anyone seeking a thought-provoking, emotionally resonant cinematic experience.

  1. I agree that we always wish to fill in what is missing. Because this , and that happened what can you learn from it , how can you heal , find peace and happiness at the end of it all?.

Big up to the team for creating such a masterpiece. At some extent I felt understood, and believe it healed some part of me -and thanks to everything that happened because today I also don’t need anyone to make me feel noticed, loved, happy – because I give it to myself.
