With the Soonyang Micro project documents in his hand, he passes them on to Min-young and finally begins his revenge against the company and the Jin family. He soon meets Oh Se-hyun and gets him to join hands as they begin their plans to complete what he couldn’t as Jin Do-jun.

While Oh Se-hyun and Min-young are driven by their wish to get their revenge for Do-jun, the former meets Lee Hae-in and gets her to join hands in this plan. Jin Yoon-ki too finds his way to them and finally decides to disclose the truth about his son’s murder which was the price he paid to enter the Jin household.

A war soon begins as Jin Seung-joon is brought to attend the trial by going against Mo Hyun-min’s wishes, and the trial soon begins. Seung-joon denies the embezzlement charges that Hyun-woo has used to fight against him when Yoon-ki enter with Ha In-suk who states that Jin Do-jun’s death was a murder.

However, he soon loses his mind and it is revealed that he is suffering from dementia. Hyun-woo remembers the scene of the accident that he had witnessed all those years back when he chose to forget about everything after being offered a job at Soonyang.

When the trial resumes, he plays the audio recording that he had kept with himself and reveals that Do-jun’s murderer is none other than Jin Young-ki. This throws everyone off guard as questions begin to be thrown at Seung-joon who loses his cool and is dragged out.

The Jin family finally loses the management rights for Soonyang and brings an end to Hyun-woo’s plans as he finally achieves his dream that he spoke about this whole time.

Finally bringing out the truth that had been hidden all these years, Hyun-woo finally understands that what he experienced was to repent the wrongs that he had done to Do-jun as well as himself. As the scene of the accident flashed past him, it was all to bring justice Do-jun and the mistake he had made all those years back.

Now, he lives as Hyun-woo and with the people who were once dearest to him, however, no one will remember him.

While the ending leaves us confused about Hyun-woo and Do-jun’s real identity, what we can interpret it as is that Do-jun died when Hyun-woo lived his first life. However, when he was reborn as Do-jun himself, he began to change history along with bringing out a new identity for Do-jun.

This experience was for him to understand what he did wrong all those years back which gave him a future that was worth nothing. However, even though he changed many things in the past, what he couldn’t change were the deaths that had to take place, and that included his own death.

As the dying face of Do-jun was etched in his mind, this was guilt that he could never get over. This guilt may be one of the reasons why he lived that life when he himself almost died.

  1. Perhaps the beginning of episode 16 needed a scene or two about Hyun-woo being saved after the gun shot to his head.It would better clarify the transition back. The writers might have intentionally wanted the beginning to be confusing, but Do-jin had been saved so many times that us viewers weren’t sure which one this was.

  2. The ending was homehow.confusing and not clearly explained however the beginning and other episodes were really worth watching. The ending was not what was being expected

  3. What I think is that, though this is a mind f*ck series, Do jun and Hyun-woo’s minds are connected. From what we saw in episode 15, Do jun died thinking that he was Hyun-woo. So it’s either their minds are connected and Do jun did have a brilliant foresight while all Hyun-woo did was experience the past without having much change or the whole concept is in a loop. So we can say that Hyun-woo just went down Do Jun’s memory lane as a spectator to bring justice and put an end to the family’s evil acts. This is how I perceive the series, though. The original writer of this story knows better, haha

  4. Yes, confusing and it seems the writer did a sedgeway on what should be. Why not have a better ending as dojun instead. Confusing plot to even go back to hyun woo. I think I agree with the rest, not worth rewatching.

    • Agree. It would have been a better ending if it was Do Jun, who lived AS Hyun Woo to bring justice to himself.
Do Jun was so lovable. I was heartbroken when he died. It would have given his character justice when he lived to exact revenge as HYUN Woo.

    • 😂😂 me too I started liking do jin but they suddenly killed him and showing that they both were different person what the f* . I started watching this in the morning and ended it at 2 am in the next morning just to know that I am also now suffering from delerium.

  5. It’s unfortunate but if I was the writer of this K-drama and the viewers were blaming solely my writing for what became the ending of the show, that’d be unfair. Based on experience, writers of shows and dramas rarely would be in the same line of thought with the director. Given the awesome and thrilling build up of reborn rich, I am positive when I say this was some kind of outcome due to production costs/cuts. Episode 16 just with the “back to the present” scenario could have been easily stretched for another episode or 2. It’s obvious that the writer of the show is probably the most unsatisfied by this outcome. The thought and ideas behind the plot, the changing of history, and the unfortunate romance, was not done any justice. I guess in the end, it’s really all just money, Such a shame. It was a good watch, but the time spent on it was not worth it. Bad ending.

  6. I enjoyed the whole episodes but not the final. Is confusing… since the title is Reborn Rich then it should stick to the story till the end since HW was shot dead n reborn this life to take revenge.

  7. Were not they both contemporaries. DoJun died in front of HW. How can one be reborn as the other? Do Jun,’s mind and spirit might have entered HW, and HW worked for the company diligently until he was also attacked. Then he revealed the truth. It’s also very surprising that no one worries about how similar HW looked to Do jun! Any way, wonderful series. Loved the old man too. Very good he was

  8. At the point of dying, Do Jun and HW were facing each other. It could not be rebirth. Do jun spirit might have entered HW and HW worked diligently until he himself was attached. He then decided to expose the Soonyang family. It’s surprising that none is surprised or worried about how similar both these men looked! An interesting series

  9. I watched it again and the ending still hurts me. At first watch I can’t accept the ending it feels like a rushed ending. I think it need more like 4 episodes to explain what just happened in real life of HW. Also, I’m disappointed that they killed Do Jun. I didn’t expected that and I was thinking that maybe there’s a another chance to change his fate but he really died. And now that I watched it again I realized that it somehow a good ending for HW because he finally free from being a dog of Soonyang. I hope there’s a second part where HW is the next owner of the Soonyang or maybe have a big percentage in the company.
