Luckiest Girl Alive is a new Netflix thriller that deals with the sensitive subject of trauma and physical abuse. It stars Mila Kunis in the lead role of Ani Fanelli, an ambitious woman with a traumatizing past. Furthermore, the film is directed by Mike Barker and written by Jessica Knoll.
The film has a running time of one hour and fifty-five minutes and is adapted from a novel of the same name, written by Jessica Knoll herself. Moreover, Colin Watkinson serves as the cinematographer for the film while Nancy Richardson is the editor. The film is also distributed by Netflix.
Luckiest Girl Alive Ending Explained
We know from the film that Ani Fanelli, agrees to do an interview for the documentary surrounding her college shootout and the traumatizing events. However, she agrees on the condition that her rapist will not be allowed on the set. She then continues to describe the events that lead to a riveting end.
When the shootout happened, Ani was able to save her life and avoid the bullets. However, the mass shooter Arthur and Ben had no plan of killing her, as they sympathized with her. Eventually, when Arthur was about to kill Ani’s Rapist, he handed over the gun to Ani, but things did not pan out according to his plan.
Ani was too shocked to take a decision and did not pull the trigger. However, Arthur completed the job by snatching the gun from her hand and shooting the rapist in the legs. After watching this, Ani took the knife behind her back and stabbed Arthur.

As she reveals the final turn out of events, Ani’s rapist arrives in a wheelchair, forcing her to leave the place. Finally, after exiting the building she starts to write a piece that covers all her feelings about what happened.
Later, she confronts her editor and shares the piece to read. The only takeaway that she gives to Ani, is to write a more raw and emotion-filled piece that will tell the honest side of her story.
Ultimately, Ani confronts her rapist Dean, at a book signing event. Where he tells him not to reveal the details of that particular day. She pushes hard on him and demands the acceptance of his crime and he gives into it at the cost of sparing his public image.
It is shown, that Ani recorded the whole thing on her phone and wrote the final piece for the times. She even tells her fiance about the decision, at the wedding rehearsal. Who fails to understand Ani’s point, and the couple ends up breaking up with each other.
In the end, we can see Ani giving an interview with a news channel, and describing what happened to her. When she comes out of the newsroom, a random woman stalks her and starts to demean her about the piece. Ani shuts up the woman with a comeback and expresses her authority and vintage confidence.
