Narcos Mexico Season 3 stars Scoot McNairy, Jose Maria Yazpik, Alberto Ammann, Alfonso Dosal, Mayra Hermosillo, Matt Letscher, Manuel Masalva, Alejandro Edda, and Gorka Lasaosa. The additional cast includes Luis Gerardo Méndez, Alberto Guerra, Luisa Rubino and Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio. The final season has 10 episodes of 45-60 minutes with Spanish and English dialogues and English subtitles.
The synopsis reads, “As a new generation of cartel leaders vie for power, journalists hunt for truth while government agents walk a thin line between justice and corruption.”
Narcos Mexico Season 3 Review Contains No Spoilers
As viewers, we knew that the drug menace in Mexico won’t be over after Félix Gallardo’s (Diego Luna) arrest. He left behind his union, and many like him, even though they were just small-time at that time. As expected, Narcos: Mexico Season 3 shows us the havoc these cartel leaders will rise in power.
Money and power are these cartel leaders’ drugs as they run a business of drugs from Mexico to America. It’s a complex chain that’s not easy to cut off because someone will take over the last bad guy in a new place. Narcos Mexico final season shows us how lethal that can be to the ones working hard to put an end to it.
Narcos Mexico Season 3 focuses mainly on Amado Carrillo Fuentes (played by Jose Maria Yazpik). Amado played key roles in the previous seasons by flying the drugs from one place to another. He turns wickedest this time. Benjamin (Alfonso Dosla), Enedina (Mayra Hermosillo) and Ramon’s (Manuel Masalva) Tijuana Cartel is also growing. We already saw Ramon’s brutality, and we see him taking it for granted this time as he becomes powerful.
New men and new crime make put Mexico in a bad light. DEA’s Walt (Scott McNairy) is there to tackle, but it’s too much for one person. In the latest season, media also plays its part in highlighting the drug fiasco in Mexico. The character in action here is reporter Andrea, played by Luisa Rubino. After a little tease, we get to see a side of trouble caused by El Chapo (Alejandro Edda).

Netflix’s Narcos Mexico Season 3 kickstarts slowly in the first few episodes. That’s exactly what happened in season 2. However, 4 episodes later, you will be disturbed seeing the curse, dominance and terror these cartels and their leaders bring.
However, drugs are not the only issue Mexico is dealing with. There’s an uprising of murders, corruption, fear, poverty and many such social evils. At one point, you want to believe that it is all fictional because of how intense it gets. However, that’s a reality, and some places are still living in its long-lasting impact.

Narcos Mexico Season 3 Review: Final Thoughts
From 2015 till 2021, Netflix has consistently delivered us good seasons of Narcos. Writers, directors, actors and stories changed, but the brilliant execution remained intact. With a little slower pace, the final season of Narcos Mexico is also a winner. The performances are great, as expected, and the narrative is engaging and compelling.
I don’t want to reveal anything about the final season. It’s one of my favourite Netflix series, and I believe it’s best to watch it instead of reading the spoilers or twists. So if you are a Narcos junkie, I hope you binge-watch it ASAP before spoilers make their way on social media.
