Walking on Thin Ice Episode 9 Review: Betrayals All Around!

In the last episode, Tae-goo’s blackmailing takes a dangerous turn, but Eun-soo has had enough of everyone bossing her around without a care in the world.

Walking on Thin Ice Episode 9 has a runtime of 70 minutes.

The series takes up KBS2’s Saturday-Sunday timeslot previously occupied by Twelve. The series, with 12 episodes, will air from September 20 – October 26, 2025.

Walking on Thin Ice Episode 9 Recap

The episode opens with viewers finally learning why Kyeong was arrested all those years ago – he was blamed for a friend’s death after they were both forced to consume alcohol against their will. Although the real perpetrator got away because he was rich, he didn’t. Burning with rage and a desire for revenge, especially when no one believed him, he targets the rich boy, who turns out to be Hwi-rim, to burn his family business to the ground. When he finally got out of prison, he shared his plans with Hyuk, who, although sceptical at first, decided to trust his brother.

In the present, Hwang Jun-hyun targets Eun-soo for trying to kill him, while Tae-gu threatens to expose Kyeong to Hwi-rim, resulting in him making a hasty exit. In a surprising turn, Tae-gu arrives at his house at that moment, and the two get into a fight, while Eun-soo approaches Hwi-rim for assistance. Later, he approaches Tae-gu with a proposal to buy the drugs from her, and just as things get heated, he gets a call from his office that the auditing team is going through his stuff.

Either way, Eun-soo faces Kyeong and tears into him for deceiving her after knowing her desperate circumstances. In the end, it results in their partnership coming to an end. At the station, Gyeong-do is framed by Tae-gu of being Money Bug in a shocking twist, leaving him confused. He is eventually let go because of the allegations and the evidence, and can do nothing about it… for now. Elsewhere, Su-a is being followed by a mysterious woman who takes her pictures and Jun-hyun, who wants revenge against Eun-soo.

As if these complications aren’t enough, Hwi-rim calls Kyeong to get some drugs and tells him about his grandfather assaulting him for doing so. He asks him for the drugs, but when he tells him that there aren’t any left, he mentions going to Eun-soo for his fix. Kyeong is, of course, frustrated, which leaves him to think about how she got to know about Hwi-rim in the first place, from where he learns about the tracking app on his phone.

Hwi-rim slowly grows suspicious of Kyeong’s involvement with his company, while the latter is left in a bind, thinking about how to get majority stakes in Tuen Holdings. Although his brother asks him to give up, he refuses to do so to prove his innocence to his father. At Eun-soo’s house, Do-jin is irate upon learning that his wife has decided for all of them to move to the US and suspicious about her involvement with Mi-seon’s situation. However, she only tells him all the information that he needs to leave with Su-a.

In a desperate situation, there seems to be some sort of light at the end of the tunnel when Hwi-rim reaches out to her to do business. What she doesn’t know is that Hwi-rim has put two and two together and has realised Kyeong’s involvement. As Su-a goes out to do her deliveries for the night, a desperate Do-jin tries to find out where his wife has hidden whatever she is doing and finds it hidden in the car seat.

In the final few scenes, Jun-hyun finally gets his hand on Su-a while Tae-gu tries to get in touch with the woman who was following Su-a around. Unfortunately, Jun-hyun has gotten to her as well. Just then, Jin-hee hands him pictures of Su-a making her deliveries, leaving him stumped. Meanwhile, Eun-soo meets Hwi-rim, but something tells me that it wasn’t the best of ideas.

Walking on Thin Ice Episode 9 Review

Walking on Thin Ice episode 9 is another fantastic entry, and we’ll get some crucial answers to our problems. The episode is gripping and tense, and leaves us thoroughly shocked as the dominoes fall one by one. Will Eun-soo and Kyeong be able to get out of this unscathed? Probably not if the episode 10 sneak peek is to be believed! Can’t wait to see what awaits everyone!
