Typhoon Family Episode 11 Recap

It becomes clear that Bak-ho owed money to Tae-poong’s father and also had a promissory note for that. But he bribed Seon-taek for that and managed to destroy the note. I believe it still exists in bits and pieces somewhere, and if Tae-poon manages to get his hands on that, it can definitely help him regain some of his past status. Bak-ho again threatens Seon-taek and tells her that if she does not search for the last bits properly, he will hurt her son.
Tae-poong becomes very much invested in this aspect and tries to get to the bottom of this situation. Though he pretends that he does not care about it, internally, he is not convinced that a ripped page means nothing. Later, Tae-poong sneaks into a meeting of the Korean Foreign Aid organisation that is planning to fund the construction of schools and hospitals with surgical facilities in Africa. They also plan on sending some products, which they intend to collect and then ship to Africa altogether.

Tae-poong decides to supply products to the government organisation because it can become the most secure project. Even though there are other vendors who are supplying almost all the important goods, no one is supplying surgical gloves. Thus, to get orders for these, Tae-poong seeks out Myeong-gwan because they need his advice and expertise. However, he has now become a part of a cult, and to get to him, both Tae-poong and Mi-seon even attend a session.
However, things become complicated between Tae-poong and Mi-seon as Mi-seon makes it clear that she wants to keep their relationship strictly professional. On the flip side, the romance between Mi-ho and Nam-mo is going pretty strong as they showcase immense love for each other. Thankfully, the Typhoon Company finally gets to apply for supplying surgical gloves and get government approval.
Just when things were going well, Hyeon-jun comes in, sweeping to apply for supplying surgical gloves from his side because he wants to compete with Tae-poong. Now they plan to submit their prices and the government officials will accept whoever’s is the lowest. Thus, they prepare for their own bids, and it becomes clear that Hyeon-jun has no idea about what he is doing. His decision will definitely generate loss, but he does not care because he just wants his revenge.

Towards the end of this episode, Tae-poong and Mi-seon walk together towards their home after having a drinking party. They’re still awkward about the fact that Mi-seon practically rejected Tae-poong’s advances towards her. He finally divulged his feelings properly and claims that he cannot pretend that what happened between them was just a fluke. He even asks Mi-seon whether she dislikes him or not. He makes it clear that he will not stop liking her and also promises that he will not disturb her with his feelings.
Tae-poong finally says I love you to Mi-seon, and she becomes absolutely awestruck. He also reveals that he does not care that it is one-sided, which he does not know is untrue. Mi-seon also loves him just as much, and she just does not want to reveal it because she wants to do something with her life first.

Typhoon Family Episode 11 Review
Today’s episode was again very story-heavy with little romance. And honestly, I preferred it that way. I like that this series focuses more on its narrative, rather than on other things. There is a love story, but it grows in a very organic and slow-burning way, keeping the appeal intact.
