Sixer Review
The series starts with a dream introduction of Nikku, played by Shivankit Singh Parihar (which every cricket fan would love to have at least once in their life). The local youth tennis ball cricket rockstar takes on a bet of hitting sixes and displays his batting charisma against an egoistic opponent. Notably, the whole sequence is binding enough to get you started with this emotionally powerful series.

The six-part sports drama then shifts to its main storyline, which involves a local town team of Vijaynagar Vijetas, which has a track record of huge margin defeats, followed by a traditional walkover. Nikku, the heart and soul of his team, decides to switch over to a better franchise to increase his winning chances.
The star batsman is a full-time tennis ball player and has no other source of income. He lives in an unfinished house and shares a sour relationship with his father. Moreover, the local politician who owns Nikku’s new team had once cheated his father financially. This dynamic forms the core of this sports drama, which gives us a finer look at the grassroots version of cricket.
Sixer is another exceptional series by TVF that contains all the traditional elements of the studio. Only this time, the stakes of relatability were higher than before, with cricket as the central theme.

The makers have successfully created a wholehearted show that goes beyond the popular side of the sport. The raw feel of tennis ball cricket is perfectly captured by the team and has the effect of engrossing the viewer, just like a live cricket match. Furthermore, the series also comments on the financial aspect of pursuing cricket and the toll that it takes on the sportsperson.
Moreover, TVF veteran Shivankit has undoubtedly emerged to be one of the most versatile actors of his era. And hits another one out of the park (literally) with this one. The supporting performances of Badri Chavan and Rahul Tewari further heighten the adrenaline rush in the series.
Final Thoughts

The series is a must-watch for any fan of the sport, including an outside observer with little to no knowledge. It has the thrill of a cricket match and the complete emotions of a drama. All in all, you cannot miss this new TVF masterpiece as it checks all the boxes for hardened cricket fans who can’t have enough of the sport!
